I don't know how good the projector is but that reviewer does an excellent job recording the screen. He makes it look good as the brand name projectors I've seen from other reviewers.

    • kinda sus about a 'reviewer' with a bunch of affiliate links

I mean, even Linus Tech tips is covered with affiliate links on their videos. It's just a revenue stream.

  • Thoughts on whether this is a worthwhile upgrade from the cheap thomson one https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/599332? (310 Ansi lumens)

Actually enjoying the thomson quite a bit so wondering whether the difference would be noticable

That link didn't work for me OP.

    Did you mean this one?

I'm tempted, not sure if this is the throw I'm after though…. My distance is 2.9m and my screen width is 2.4m hmmm

Who the hell buys 2 projectors?!

    • double your image quality

    • Double brightness.

I bought this projector last deal and was pleasantly surprised, it works well for movies and games especially at night.
During the day, you've got to have your blinds closed for it to work (it's approximately 500 ANSI lumens)

    • This thing is bloody amazing for the price. Couldn’t be happier. Upgraded from the QKK and the colours and picture quality are much better. Can’t believe what $230 buys these days. Only issue is you need a fully dark room.

    • I bought after read through the post here. It reaches my expectation and I can't agree more with you.

Beware, I bought this, big black dot on lower right. Banggood support is totally useless asking me if it is dust even though I have provided pictures and video. Its frustrating because they take days to reply. Probably hoping I will give up.

  • Damn, it went OOS as I was checking out. Does this projector go on sale often? I've been considering getting a projector for a while and finally went to bite the bullet tonight so that's a shame.

Refreshed 10 minutes later and there was some in stock and managed to snag one! Can anyone recommend a screen with a stand?

    Ordered from the previous deal.
Still haven't got it as they claimed no stock after I purchased.
They continue to discount while customers have been waiting over a month.

Yeah me too. Pretty dodgy if you ask me, definitely gonna think twice next time.

    • Dude, that sux :(

Mine just shipped out from this deal, definitely not fair!

      Good luck!

Ordered on Sunday and received today ( Wednesday). Pretty impressed.

I'm in Melbourne. My unit was shipped out on 15th Feb. Still sitting at Aramex Sydney's sorting facility. I specifically waited for the AU stock so I don't have to wait weeks/months for delivery from China.

        Amarex/Fastway are the worst.

        • Package finally arrived today after emailing to enquire about the delivery. I'm not home yet, so my partner opened it up to check.

Mailing bag came with big holes. Box dented. Package looks like it has been opened, evidence in the dust under the seals.

Not impressed. I'm suspecting Aramex to be the party responsible.

          • @thangcuoi: Unpacked and setup the projector last night. I connected it to a Vodafone TV box + Logitech Z623 + TaoTronics BA08, projected directly on to the white/cream wall. Very happy with the picture quality. Setting it behind our couch, the picture was about twice the size of our existing 55" TV. Wish we have made the switch sooner.

My main issue is with the keystone adjustment. I was expecting a one push button auto adjustment but that doesn't seems to be possible. It's a pain to manually make the adjustment everytime we move the projector.

  • The inbuilt media player looks pretty ancient, if anyone has this, how does it go for movies/shows with subtitles?

Alternatively, if I plug in a Chromecast (w/Google TV), would it read the usb that's plugged into the projector?

  • Also seems to be expired?

AU warehouse isn't an option anymore, and the price is $235~ US with the code.

    • Back in stock

      • AU warehouse with EU plug what does that mean?

  • Worked for me just now

  • Other than the fact parcel connect dropped it at a depot an hour bus trip from my house, the projector is great. I can smell the exhaust a bit with no ventilation, but other than that it's very nice for this price range.

  • Ordered, thanks OP
Will follow up for others to see how much of an improvement it is from a cheap chinese 720p projector.

    • Just received it after having no shipping updates the entire time, Aramex mustn't have the greatest parcel tracking/scanning protocols…
Will follow up with quality comparison tonight.

      • Significantly better than my old projector, in almost every aspect.
Colour, brightness, clarity and even the ease of focusing and keystone correction.
The only downsides are that the unit is even larger, has slightly more fan noise and a longer throw distance.
In my living room the size of the screen has decreased from roughly 115" to 95" from the same position, still with all the benefits I'd gladly take the hit.

Anyone on the fence with an existing 720p projector contemplating upgrading just do it, you'll be very pleased with the results.

  • Just watched the WandaVision finale on this with a pair of wall mounted Edifiers and a little Class D amp. What a phenomenal bang for your buck setup.

  • Coming up as $238USD for me incl shipping
