  • I have been loving my recent ps3 purchase, been playing journey and uncharted, looking forward to the last of us. Games on it still look good, and I haven't played them being an xbox person. Well worth the 50 odd dollars with games and controllers

Those games you mentioned have both been remastered for the PS4. The remaster of uncharted & uncharted 2 brings the controls and gunplay up to date with the modern improvements made for uncharted 3 and is highly recommended over the originals.

Did you know you can play the vast majority of PS3 games with a PS4 controller? Sony added support for the new controllers at some point towards the end of the PS3 life cycle and I definitely think it's worth using the new controller if you can find one for sale at a reasonable price.

What's the point of the new controller again? It has a small touch pad, but would that be useful in old games that dont support it?

I will eventually get a PS4 when they come down in price, but I checked ebay and even a broken one that has already been messed with in a failed attempt to fix it goes for over 120. That's just madness. I picked up my ps3 for 22 bucks and controllers for 4 a piece, and uncharted was 3 bucks. When I looked at the graphics comparisons, it's splitting hairs, and I don't think the graphics takes away form the game play. There's also the addition nostalgia of playing the game as it was originally created on the original hardware. I have found the controls slightly clunky especially with the gunplay, and but they are OK with me and I don't know what the improvements actually are.

I did check the pricing for the uncharted games on ps4, and I was surprised to see that it was actually comparable, as you can buy the collection for about 14 bucks, so the actual game price isn't the barrier for me. I did consider waiting and playing other games for the meantime but it seems fine and I am enjoying it (although long sessions the motion blur gets to me a little)

I feel the same bro. After I bought my new car I was disappointed that I need to pay for insurance, registration and petrol to run it. Sucks lol.

    • lol bro I think I brought it on a rush and didn't realise this. my bad but

This is why I generally wait 1.5 - 2 years before buying the new consoles. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic and the news that Sony are selling the PS5 at a loss I can't foresee any price drops anytime soon.

I wish I hadn't bought one, I seriously bought into the hype and now I wish I hadn't spent the money.

It will be sitting there for a long time until the new Horizon comes out.

    • same rush buy. didnt realise the business model is expensive

No need to wish you didnt buy one. You can sell it, make your money back and make someone else who cant very happy.

  • Love it. Got a yearly ps plus subscription from cd keys for $35 and already filled up my external 1tb drive with free games. Now just have to find time to play them all, lol.
The only thing I hate is the new crappy ps store redesign and the fact that they removed filters/price sorting.(though I recently realised this was done on the website as well not just the console)

    • US PS plus ?

Yup, ended up being cheaper. I can play the games on my main Aus account too after installing them.

Has Sony improved their dog shit servers from the PS4? I could download from Steam at 12MBps and from PSN at 300KBps. XBL was around 8MBps from memory when I turned it on every blue moon.

From what I heard download speeds are still not good and rather inconsistent especially if compared to the xbox series x.

  • Be aware guys…Error CE 108255-1 is for real. I have got the PS5 and started paying Astro's Playroom. After few game session, the game stoped loading and started trowing Error CE108255-1. Temporary fix which is working for me is to disconnect the internet, launch the game and then again connect the internet. Not sure what wrong with Sony, they know this problem and have various work arounds….!! $750 console and you have to do the DIY for playing games !! SAD!!

Not sure how it is going for others…but this error has effected many around ….and in most cases you may have to send the the console back to Sony.

    • Didn't see this YET

      • Hope you will not !! It’s bad experience after putting so much of effort and money to buy this.
