Does Anyone Know a Place in Melbourne Northern Suburbs That Can Install a Custom Watercooling Loop?

A friend of mine has got a custom watercooling kit with all the tubings/rads/plates but neither of us are confident installing it and don't want the hassle of any leaks destroying his brand new PC build. Want to go to a store that will put it together for him so if there is any leaks he can be covered rather than just finding a bloke on Facebook to do it and find out he has done a crap job and won't cover his work.

I know there is Aftershock PC that is popular on here that sell custom loop systems but they are all the way in St Kilda which is a fair distance from where we live and don't feel comfortable getting the PC sent by courier. Looking for shops in northern suburbs, does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

Why not put it together separately from the mobo etc to test before installing?

    • This, I always built custom (and I mean custom, I used to use car parts, medical tubing, etc) loops in the bathroom, run it for half an hour, check for leaks then put it in the system. It's really hard to screw up if you put the pipe on properly and properly secure it.

That said, I was never running a $2k GPU like OP's friend apparently is.

Most likely that won't find a store that takes their parts, builds it and also warranties it if it all goes pear shaped. They'll just blame the parts for being dodgy.

  • If it's that much of a hassle and you both have little confidence in your work then maybe you should get an all in one cooler. That's what they were made for. You are their target audience.

    • This guy spends money big to have the best of everything. He has an rtx 3090 in the PC and he has already bought a big box of various water-cooling parts that he has read are the best. Think he also wants the aesthetics of the custom loop as he has some nice rgb fans etc.

I know you can get the AIO coolers with oled on them and stuff which are pretty funky but he just wants to find someone to put together what he has.

  • I dont think any shop would be willing to do the job for B.Y.O parts as its too much of a risk to cover from an insurance standpoint.

  • Just watch several youTube video's over & over again and then you will see it in your sleep building it.
Then just do it. You will then have the satisfaction of building the whole thing yourself.
Is it hard or soft tubing? Did you get the right connectors for that tubing? If so, you should be OK.
You will run it with part fluid in it (also to get air out of system) with rags here and there and watch like a hawk.
You will be fine. Then you and your mate can say to everyone that you built your PC yourself
Don't forget to come back here with pictures when you are finished - OK
