Tallest pet/baby gate avaliable in Australia? Help please.

Our cats keep getting into an area of the house that is off limits to them.
Have bought a baby gate from Bunnings (90cm tall) but they can just jump over it.

There are taller gates I would like to try (120cm)

But I can't seem to find any this tall in Australia.

Any help appreciated have spent days looking
Thank you everyone.

If your cats can jump 90cm, they can almost certainly jump 120cm…

    • And after 120cm, it becomes a challenge for them 😅

Can you just put another 90cm one above the other one? Will be a pain to use the gates, but should work.

If your cat can jump 90cm, why not 180cm too? Might need to extend your door frame vertically to accommodate a third 90cm gate.

    Its called a door.

    • I'm renting, it's also a hallway, don't think I'll be able to install a door sadly :(

      • Have you tried alternative methods? Cats dislike certain scents and sounds so maybe something ultrasonic for that room, or spray the area with cinnamon or citurs or burn some incense or something?

  • 2.5m should do the trick… You can get these with a plastic backing, if the gaps are too big to prevent feline access.

  • https://www.amazon.com.au/PetSafe-ScatMat-Indoor-Training-El… give one or two of these a go if the area isn't particularly expansive.

  • Have a spray bottle with water in it, just spray them with water whenever they enter that area and they will leave immediately.

Will take a couple of weeks but they will learn not to go there soon and you never have to worry about it.

I'd hate to see the shipping cost from the States though!

Otherwise, could you try something like this? Or would they knock it over?

  • Close the door.

  • You are doing it wrong by trying to fix the symptoms.

    You know the root cause…

  • I’ve heard those ssscat spray things work pretty well ( I realise this site is out of stock) https://www.vetnetsupplies.com/shop/ssscat/

The problem with those mats suggested above is a cat will jump over them lol

  • cucumber on the floor
watch YouTube clips of cats freaking out over it

  • Why are the cats not allowed in the hallway?

Good luck, we have two cats and they can easily jump the 1.8m side fences. I doubt deterrents will work either, they'll just go there when you're not around to spray them with water etc. Unless you douse the entire area of the house with one of the cat repellent things from Bunnings. No idea what they are like, but could be unpleasant for people as well, as I think they are intended for outside use…
