  I went for this one instead for the same price. It's USB 3.1 (no speed specified) and has a cap.

      i don't know which is accurate (probably 3.0) but the specs say:

      I still prefer having a cap to keep the plug clean. Also, a metallic stick gets very hot to touch.

        USB 3.0 can also be known as USB 3.1 (Gen 1) and then there's USB 3.1 (Gen 2) which is what most people would refer to as USB 3.1
        But if they're using USB 3.0 and 3.1 interchangeably then it'll be USB 3.0 / 3.1 (Gen 1).

          @BeerCrisp: Well, they shouldn't be using both on the same page. If they use 3.1, they should specify what gen.

          3.1 used to mean 10Gbps before they did that Gen BS.

  they all have great read speeds , more than fast enough to stream video, etc , but write speed is the challenge and at these price points there would not be much buffering if sending big files, hence no quotes write speeds.

  FYI, I had two micro SD cards with a USB adapter fail on me. Honestly I'll give them another go, but I'm just saying have multiple backups of your data, I don't trust this brand.

        Cheers, apologies for being a tad vague, OMGJL is right. I had bad sectors the first card and the USB adapter stuffed up on the other. I have a gold one as well, it seems to work great, although I've only used it 5-ish times. Flash drives as cheap, have at least two backups for important data.
