How to Hit Transactions for Conditonal Interest

Hello Ozbargainers,
I am wondering what the best way to hit 5 purchases on my westpac acount so that i can get my bonus interest. I was contemplating switching due to their 3% interest for students but i cannot bare how crap their app is so i'm going to stick with Up, except now that i've gone to all the effort of signing up I want the bonus $50. I figure I could send 1 cent to people on paypal, but then they hit me with a 1c fee. Curious if there are any better options. Any suggestions appreciated! cheers.

You buy food and groceries right?… if you are at a supermarket, why not pay for each item individually? :/

Five cents too much to pay to earn $50?

    • Yeah but I'm not sure if they would pickup 5 transactions of 0.01 to the same person and not give me the money

  • Beemit has worked for me in the past

    • With Westpac? Phone rep says it didn't count

  • 5 x $2 charge to your water bill (my water provider has a minimum $2 on bpay payments :) )

    • Good option, except it would need to be a payment through the card to be eligible.

      • It works for my ING Orange account, does Westpac require physical card presentation? Topping up Myki for lowest amount x 5 at a self service machine may work? Not sure if you can do <$10 on machines.

        • Online payments are fine, just has to be using the card details not through BPay

@realfancyman: Ooops, I checked with my water provider (South East Water) - I actually used my card directly through their direct payment portal rather than Bpay :). They did have a $2 minimum transaction for card payments.

  • Get a frozen coke everyday from HJ/Maccas/KFC?…

  • Just buy an apple and part pay 1c at a time. I have 5 cards to do every month, for my entire household.

    Supermarket self service checkout.
Split card payments, use the same card to pay four $1 amounts then another tap to pay the balance.

    • I did a $30 shop and split it into 5 $6 purchases. Thanks everyone for advice

I couldn't be bothered with all these silly games. For my ING card, I just buy a litre of milk at Woolies once a week, and then a couple of bread rolls at the bakery for my 5th transaction. All stuff I have to buy anyway. Life's to short to be fartars**g around with 1 cent transactions and driving shop staff mad. You can be a good ozbargainer without being stupid.

    • I don't believe PayPal would lose sleep if I decided to send 5c over their service.
