For what it is worth, it was $199 2 years, 6 months, and 21 days ago..

IMHO this isn't worth more than $200 today - maybe at $149 it'd be a bargain

    • Nope it wouldn't.

    • If it had an audio input I reckon it'd be worth $150 or more to the right person. ie. someone who needs DVD/CD, Radio, BT and reasonably acceptable sound.

without an input it's useless to anyone who might consider it in lieu of a soundbar for TV use, unless they only watch DVDs.

yes it has audio/line in, one aux in and one rgb audio

I'm almost certain you're wrong. Happy to be convinced otherwise if you can show me specs from the manufacturer or something else that carries more weight than your word.

          "RGB audio". interesting.

@watts: Audio in: stereo 3.5mm on the front
Line in: L/R RCA on the back.

            • @Thrift: cheers. looks like I'm eating my hat, twice ;)

My sister had an earlier version of this and couldn't get the TV audio, but now I remember that was due to lack of analogue output from TV (or digital input on the amp).

              • @watts: for something you wasn't uncertain, you left me 4 negative votes on post.

                • @smile315au: Sorry, the ‘RGB audio’ part of your reply made me think it was all rubbish and jump on the neg button. I was wrong. RGB audio is also wrong though .

Not all 4 negs are related.

One neg was for answering the question no one asked. ‘Is Pioneer a good Speaker.’ I don’t agree they’re ‘worth a try’ for $249.

One neg for the misleading claim ‘just the speakers are worth more than $200’ and the lazy attempt to substantiate.

Neg on the deal itself because I just don’t think it’s a bargain at $249, plus reasons above.

So while I do admit I was wrong on the input and first neg is mostly unfounded I won’t be trying to get the 4 negs removed as you requested.

Is Pioneer a good speaker brand?
Leveraging 80 years of experience, Pioneer succeeds at creating good quality products inside the "affordable" bracket. While I wouldn't call it "the best brand in car audio ever" they definitely offer good products at good prices, so they're worth a try

      • that's just plain lazy. Link to the actual speakers if you're trying to prove their worth.
