Opticomm is a privately run network which tends to service greenfield developments. Aussie Broadband have a good write-up on it.

Essentially if you live in an Opticomm estate you have to go via Opticomm providers. A list is here:

Personally I'm in an Opticomm estate and go with Leaptel.

  • Opticomm is a wholesale company, you can sign up with one of the RSPs out there.

Looks like Superloop is on their list:

Anyway, maybe check with your body corporate/building manager and see which wholesale company your building is connected with. From what I have heard, some wholesalers will "insist" on apartment buildings signing exclusivity deal with them.

From what I can see Superloop only offer Opticomm for business connections. Looks like there was even some discussion here about 18 months ago - I popped my address in to the Superloop website and it doesn't show up, so doesn't appear to have changed in the intervening months.

  • I am in an Opticomm area too. It was a pain to get set up and is more expensive that NBN but… it is also rock-solid. FTTP 1000/50 for $150 per month - I always max out my gigabit connection. I'd recommend Leaptel too.
