Recommendation for a Power bank to Charge a Dell Latitude Laptop

Hi all,

Can someone please recommend a decent power bank which can charge a Dell Latitude laptop or rather keep it 'powered up' when on the go? May be for an hour or more (if that's even possible).

My work laptop's battery is not lasting more than a few minutes and at times I need to use the laptop disconnected from the power outlet. Can't get the battery replaced until we're done with WFH.

Will really appreciate any links to a bargain :) Thank you so much.

Need to know the model number to provide any advice. If its a model without USB-C charging then it will be difficult to find a product that works

    • it's Dell Latitude 7480

    • and yes, it does have a USB-C port

The Dell Power Companion linked above (PW7015M) is 45W and may not charge your laptop. You need the PW7015MC 60W one.The below eBay seller has it for $39 (+ free shipping) and it lists compatibility with your laptop. It should run your laptop for around half the time of the original battery. That appears to be the cheapest option for you.

Otherwise, your laptop can charge via USB-C, using the Power Delivery (PD) spec. So it should work with any PD spec charger, though it could be worth checking with Dell just to be sure. You will likely need 65W output or greater. The Xiaomi ZMI QB823 is excellent (I own one) and would work, however it is out of stock and hard to find right now.

The best bang for buck option I can see is the Kogan 26800 mAh Power Bank Pro with 87W USB-C PD (102W total) output for $59. Looks like you can get free shipping too if you buy via the app. I have another Kogan Power Bank that is pretty good for the price. The Kogan Power Bank does not say if the included USB-C cable is rated for 87W, but it should be. If not, you might need another cable.

That power bank is 99Wh. After some conversion inefficiencies etc, it should run the laptop for around the same time as the original battery (60Wh) did.

    • Thank you so much for the detailed response. Appreciated

Happy to help - I have recently gone through similar myself so it was easy.
