10 Mac Games for USD$19.95 as MacGameStore Presents "The Best Mac Game Bundle Ever"

20

Got a Mac for Christmas and looking for some games to play on it that won't break the bank? MacGameStore has just released this great bundle with 10 nifty Mac games of varying types (Hidden object, puzzles, simulation, mysteries etc.)

Note that these games are more "family friendly" than the type your typical gamer craves. I enjoy them (but I'm a sad old git).

Also, although it says 10 games I bought it and got 11 (Enigmo 2 was also included but I'm not sure if everyone qualifies for it).

From the website:

The Best Mac Games Bundle EVER is here! Get 10 of the hottest Macintosh games released in 2011. The bundle includes games that the entire family can enjoy from amazing platform games such as Trine to thrilling mysteries such as Trauma. Into simulations? Cities is Motion is the hottest city building simulation available for the Mac. Hidden object fans will get into Jewel Quest Mysteries: The Seventh Gate and puzzle fans will love Puzzler World!

Most games in the bundle require an Intel Mac and Mac OS X 10.6 or later. BE SURE TO CHECK SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS BEFORE PURCHASING. ALL SALES FINAL. NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES WILL BE ISSUED FOR THIS BUNDLE.

  • I guess it's an OK deal, if you like all the games involved - this is akin to going back in time and buying a CD, so you may or may not like one track, but tough titties - you have to pay for the lot.

Couple games are ok, but id just get steam if I were you.

Most of the games in this bundle aren't available via Steam and, secondly, I hate DRM.

Agreed, and it’s not really a big deal installing Windows on a recent Mac for gaming.

I’ve been playing many recent games – Skyrim, SW:TOR, MW3 – on an iMac 27″. I’ve simply partitioned the drive using Boot Camp and installed Windows 7. Instant PC, instant gaming platform.

(And I mean, literally, instant: this is a recent model iMac that came with an SSD. I can be in Mac OS X, then restart into Windows 7 in around 30 seconds…)

I kinda laugh when people say if a Mac user wants to game, they should use an XBox or PS3.

Well, yes, you could go that route, but consider that this is a recent model iMac 27″ that came with a 2GB VRAM Radeon graphics card that is many times more powerful than the ageing video cards of the consoles. The consoles are getting a bit tired and PC gaming is entering a new golden age.

PC games on this iMac 27″ look stunning and setting it to quickly boot Windows was rather painless. (Don’t even think about virtualising a game title. Go native.)

      • Please stop talking up your mac, it has a 6970 mobile edition card, VRAM isn't everything, I'd love to see how that useless laptop cars drives a 2560x1440 display. Should have bought an Xbox for $150.

        • xbox for $150 is a steel, considering how many cheap games there are on the market
