so long story short, my bluetooth headphones randomly disconnect from my mac, usually during meetings. its driving me nuts! the issue is only during meetings (multiple applications), no issues with my phone or when listening to media headphones.
Im looking to see if a bluetooth dongle will sort it out, and as a bonus it means i can use the headphones on another pc if needed
needs to be mac compatible, and cheap as per the community guidelines

Given you can listen to music no problems, it doesn’t sound like it is the Mac but more like the application is fighting with something else for the microphone and speakers. I just got a shiny new 4K monitor and teams/windows is fighting for use of that rather than my headset. I suspect something similar would be happening to you.
Try disconnecting everything other than your headphones (i.e external monitors, dongles etc) and see if that helps. You might be able to force the headphones to be the only sound input/output device.
