  • What type of non-stick coating do they use?

    Is it safe?

    • Durable.

    • +2

Why is this tagged as off-topic? Cheap non-stick coatings are toxic. Since there is no information on the type of coating, i assume it is not safe, and consider this a no deal. JV's comment is directly relevant to whether this is a deal or not.

  • -2

Also, if anyone wants to know.

    • Made in China

as it was excluded from the description…

Personally, I'd want to know if the non-stick coating was safe if it is coming from China…
They kind of have a track record in this area…

  • +2

I bought this brand a few years ago and it didn't last very long - maybe 12 months. Probably ok buying if you're buying new pans annually.

    • +1

      I bought it for camping

      • To cook on a fire ?

Why is JV getting so heavily downvoted in here? He's a bit obnoxious at times, but he's right here: What is the non-stick coating?
There are materials that have been used that are harmful to humans, and the description doesn't provide any details about this except that it's 'non-stick coating'

    • +3

      What is the non-stick coating?

You'd think it would be mandatory to list it on the product page…

      • +1

You shoukd ask Woolies if they can verify if their non-stick products are PFOA free.
I'd be interested to hear what they say.

        • I didn't post this deal.

          • @jv: you wanted to know … and now you don't

            • @petry:

              you wanted to know …

I guess if you're not concerned about your health, you wont care.

@jv: don't bother trying to engage with me - go pick on someone else with your mod mate minders.

                • @petry:

don't bother trying to engage with me

                  lol…

you're the one stalking my comments and going off topic and trolling…

how about following the rules and discussing the deal rather than attacking and name-calling other members here.

                  • -2

@jv: since the mods exempt you from the rules - you - the non stick surface calling the pan dangerous….. is a joke

                    • @petry:

                      exempt you from the rule

Which rules in particular, the ones you made up?

Maybe you should read up on the rules against off-topic comments or attacking other members.

They overplayed their hand with the convenient supporting inserts…I wised up to those a while back …

the non stick surface calling the pan dangerous…

Where exactly did I say this surface was dangerous ???

@moocher: Site rules are enforced differently for different members of the community- there are threads about it.

Some behaviours allegedly banned are ignored by moderators over and over again in favour of the same posters. Attempts to discuss these issues are ignored by moderators over and over again as has been discussed in threads at length till mods close them.

when you wanna discuss it with me directly feel free to pm me.

                            • @petry:

Site rules are enforced differently for different members of the community-

That is not true, though each person's perception of how offensive each comment is may be different.

We don't ignore reports or TWAMs. However we may choose to stop responding in a TWAM if a discussion is going nowhere.

@moocher: seriously? you want to have this discussion in public - probably in order to ban me?

i was banned for 2 weeks by a moderator for repeating the word troll, which had been used in the post above mine by the poster to describe themselves.

moderators refused to discuss the ban - over and over again - do you want the screen dump? mods just took out the person who did it above - but the same term is in at least another 6 live threads as i type this.

when certain people complain on this site some people are banned

        • might email them..?

    • Why is JV getting so heavily downvoted in here?

OP is taking questions about his post a bit too personally…

Comments section is to discuss the 'deal', not to attack other members who ask questions…

      • but 'you self describe as one who likes to annoy so why accuse others of attacking you when you describe your own behaviour in exactly those terms?

banning yourself would seem the logical choice because the site admins here grant you very special privileges…'

the non stick surface calling the pan dangerous…..

        • the non stick surface calling the pan dangerous…..

It's well know that some of the non-stick surfaces contain carcinogens..

Wouldn't surprise me if some Chinese companies still use them and get away with it, much like they do putting poisons in food…

          • @jv: but you don't know that, and you have made plain that you don't want to ask woolworths about that.

maybe instead of repeatedly insinuating that woolworths are negligently selling carcinogenic pans via ozbargain, over and over again you should consider what you are now deliberately insinuating about woolies

            • @petry:

              but you don't know that

That is why i asked in the first comment.

Link to where I said it?

or are you just make libellous claims?

Where did I state they used a carcinogenic pan, as you claim I did?

You can read can't you ???

thread 'Mint Non-Stick Coating Saute Pan 30cm with Lid $12 @ Woolworths'

you seem very confused jv about what you write over and over again about what Woolies are selling

and you are still doing it…. despite not knowing any such thing about it… and you keep accusing people of attacking you and now defaming you.

                    where have i defamed you?

                    • @petry:

                      where have i defamed you?

                      false accusations.

you don't seem to understand the difference between asking a question and making a statement…

Back to English Grammar 101 for you…

Thats a matter for the australian government labelling regulations - not an excuse for cheap rupert racism…. you worried email woolies…

    • It can also be harmful to a lot of pets if they live inside. My birds would die if I used this in the house.

Was given this pan a few weeks ago, alright for a quick non-stick fry up but the handles get very hot if you saute' or simmer for too long.
