Standing Desk - Budget and Good Quality- Need ASAP

Guy I’m developing bad posture leg aches with all the sitting in front of my laptop. I got myself a good ergonomic chair now to get an electric stand up desk.
I have space constraints in my unit and looking at 120 cm x 70 cm range slim desk.
I did a lot of research and I need your help deciding which one to pick. I would have ordered online but need this by Sunday or Monday as I am going to start working from next Tuesday.
I like white top and budget was mere $300 but after my research I increased it to $750-$800.
Need your help to select what are my options. Seeing and trying is definitely the best option. I live in Mascot Sydney area.

IKEA: $749 plus $50 shipping. They don’t have it in store but can be delivered by Sunday. It’s all black missing white top option.

Officeworks $699 all white but a little bigger 150cm it’s going to be available to be picked up from my nearby officeworks

Do you have other suggestions?

Get a manual wind up desk if you want to save money rather than an electronic one. Spend the leftover on a monitor and keyboard. Laptops are terrible to work off for prolonged periods.

    • Thanks a lot. I found ikea doesn’t have the electric standup desk anymore.
I wanted to get electric table as it’s easy to lift up and down .. I’ll end up using more.
Now that I’m stuck with officeworks option for electric desk I might just look into manual wind up tables.

Do you have any recommendations for 120cm x 70cm slim white colour manual one which is easy to assemble?

      • Ikea skarsta !

Check out the Matrix electric sit/stand desk from Officeworks, only $399 for the 120cm version

I've had mine for nearly a year now and have been very happy with it, only thing I would recommend is to install the desktop backwards and don't use the cage for the desk power brick (just screw it into the bottom of the desk) otherwise you'll bash your knees on the motor or power brick.

I have had this for over a year band that damn motor is the only thing that annoys me. Have even installed it backwards without the metal cage but I still knock it from time to time. It's still such good value though especially with the long warranty.

    • I’m really eying that now and most likely get this. The reason if I get a manual wind one I’ll be too lazy not to wind it and unwind it. Please don’t judge me for being lazy.
Could you please send me some pictures as I do not know what it means to install backwards and not to use the cage? I saw a lot of comments online but with no virtual. I’m a virtual kind of a person:)

Thank you so much for giving me the assurance that this would be a good buy.

    • Tried inboxing you for more instructions but couldn’t inbox you. Please inbox me for the instructions. I plan to get this today and assemble tomorrow

  • Manual tabletop sit/stand can be had for less than $100.

I'm not sure if there is a 120cm variant but I bought a 160cm Fortis electric model from either Mytopia or Kogan that I'm really liking.
Being electric definitely encourages me to use it more than the manual ones in the office

  • if you need asap then OW or IKEA where else just go get the best one according to your budget

  • Got my IKEA IDÅSEN a year ago. Still works without any issues. Love it.

    • IKEA IDASEN is really good but unfortunately not available in Australia anymore also it doesn’t come with white top.

I’ll be getting the OW matrix 120cm electric one and use the rest of the money towards a monitor and a good keyboard.

If someone could give me some instructions on how to avoid the motor not to hit your knees that would be much appreciated

  • I bought a second hand Varidesk on marketplace and it is fantastic. It sits on top of your existing desk and is very easy to use. Would recommend

  • I bought the 140cm version of this for about $450 delivered https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Artiss-Electric-Height-Adjustabl… and love it apart from the warranty. It has three memory buttons for different heights and dual motors and you won't be hitting your knees on anything. EDIT not sure if you will get it by Monday from your location but mine was pretty quick to arrive.

  • Thank you guys I bought the OW Matrix electric sit/stand desk $399 for the 120cm version it's all white which is what I was looking for. I will be setting this up over the weekend or tomorrow and will give you guys my feedback. Special thanks to @Haydos90 for all the tips and support. I will follow his guidance as it ensures i do not hit the knee on that motor.

    • Hey mate, how are you doing with this desk? Feedback?
