Buying a Bike in QLD to Ship to Melbourne

Hi all,

I'm in Melbourne and trying to buy a bike which only seems to be in stock interstate.

The store in Ashgrove, QLD advised they don't ship the bikes, as the bike needs to roll out of the front door from their store.

I don't know anyone in QLD so wondering what options I have to get this shipped?

Would a courier company pickup an item from a store and ship it to me?

Thanks

If GnarlyKnuckles goes to Russell island to check on koala numbers, perhaps they can collect it for you.

  • If you can organise someone to walk into the store, the sale will happen. I tried to buy interstate too and all said no with response as you've received.

Prior to covid, in some cases flying to their State and buying then flying home that same day was still cheaper than buying local. I'm talking about when flights interstate were like $39.

  • Is this a pushie? If so I’d just fly over there and pick it up. Pretty sure Qld is open to Vic now.

Do it on a Wednesday or something where you’ll get cheapish flights.

Pretty sure Qantas takes sports equipment for free still.

Airtasker is worth a look to drop it at a courier but depending on the cost it is a big risk because once it leaves the bike shop it isn’t their issue if the airtasker assignee takes it.

  • pay my flights to fly it down and back ill do it for you and $50 for airport beers.
