Does anyone know of a modified android gumtree app to remove the massive ads that randomly appear while scrolling through?

  • Maybe one of those background DNS type ad blockers. At home I run a PiHole on my network and dont get any advertising through the Gumtree app.

Alternative might be to use a browser that has an addon/plugin or a browser like Brave to block ads and use their website ??

I recommend Firefox on Android. Efficient. Good plug-in support.

  • remove the massive ads that randomly appear while scrolling through?

I only get small ads on the bottom (mostly stan shite) and scattered but related ebay ads in my Gumtree search results.

    Watching thread with interest though.

If you remove all the ads, whats the point of Gumtree?

      We have a winner.

      You are the 1,000,000th viewer!

  • I have to turn off Adblock to use gumtree as the “post ad” and “contact” buttons do not appear :(

  • Weblock works - tested on iOS though

  • there's an app called luckypatcher that let you strip out all of adware code inserted and give you the package to reinstall it. I was in the same predicament with you for years until I found it last year. It works with a lot of other app too.

  • Use Firefox

  • The ads on the gumtree app are out of control using iPhone SE the bottom permanent ad banner is so big that when looking at cars the thumbnails are bigger than what is left of the viewable area. It’s a shame most traffic has gone to marketplace where most communications are simply useless stats. Then with gumtree increasingly becoming worse… how about becoming better? Would love to know how to revive the true painless old ways of gumtree where you call someone and then go buy the thing, not just be one of a hundred Facebook messages that display first message last 🤷🏻‍♂️
