  • Was holding out for the Party Edition, but this'll do. Thanks!

The world party edition is also on sale from $31.86 to $23.77 (25.45% discount).

      • Yeah I have that on Wish List but it's Amazon US though so need to make up $49 for free shipping.

    • What's the difference between this and party edition ?

      • +1

Bananagrams Party edition captures the fun of the original but with 14 chaos-inducing new tiles

I read this in an announcers voice

  • Cheers

  • thanks OP!

  • Do remember to check your game to make sure it's not a counterfeit, I got one last time this deal came up.

    • Counterfeit Bananagram tiles? How did you notice?

      • +5

        I found this:

"We have encountered a number of reports of people purchasing what turns out to be counterfeit versions of this product. A counterfeit can be spotted by the tiles having large circular indents on their backs, and feeling of very lightweight plastic. The authentic version has solid tiles, and feel sturdy. Additionally, the letters are engraved, not just printed on the tile surface."

At least Amazon are good with returns.

        • Oh wow. Yeah the Kmart ones I bought are very solid tiles and engraved. I'd be annoyed with lesser tiles too.

      • Yeah more or less as @zzyss commented.
The tiles are hollow stamped blocks with an indented back (like a laptop keyboard key) completely awful compared to the real ones which are solid and have a nice weight to them.
The banana also came packed in that weird 'Chinese $2 dollar store toy' plastic bag with a random graphic on the hand tag area.

        • That's hilarious. I feel for those who don't know what legit ones look like and keep these knock offs.

  • aaaargh

Great price for an awesome game. We have the double set to allow for longer games or more players. It's cheaper to buy two of these at this price though.

    • What’s wrong with old fashioned Scrabble?

      • +2

This is a faster paced game, done in 10 mins. More speed than strategy (although good strategy helps).

Catered to different contexts. Appeals to diff people.

      • Old fashioned Scrabble is for boomers

      • From here:

A game of Scrabble is going to take at least an hour with an average game consisting of 36 turns divided by the number of players. So in a four player game you would expect to spell nine words.

If that's your idea of a fun word game, then Scrabble is a good choice. Bananagrams, however, is fast paced, and everyone is playing for the entirety of the game, and the game is over in a fraction of the time. Plenty of time for a rematch if desired.

I'll never play Scrabble again after discovering Bananagrams.

  • Item is 'Temporarily out of stock' and doesn't mean that you cannot back order.

Helpful for picking stocks if you have Uno cards and a magic 8-ball.

My 3yo loves playing with these, sadly he does not enjoy picking them up when he's done.

  • Great game, good price

  • Great game. Last time I ordered on backorder through Amazon it took almost 3 months (just FYI).

    Shows as 29.95 for me

  • We love this game, great for getting the kids to practice spelling etc!

    • +3

Why do your kids need to practise how to spell et cetera?

  • Grabbed, always wanted to try this. Not sure it will de-throne my go-to word game (Unspeakable Words), but worth a shot.

  • I don't know why I need this but I do, bought one of the party edition ones.

Received mine today. Genuine, not counterfeit (at least not according to the definition I posted above). Nicely weighted tiles, well put together.
