[Solved] What Password/s Does Cash Converters Use on Their Laptops? (Answer: 1971)

I have just received a Macbook Pro that i got for a pretty decent price off Cash converter's online store however there is no mention anywhere what the password to sign in is.
I have tried the obvious passwords but none work.
So i'm wondering if anyone has bought a Macbook (or i guess windows laptop) from Cash converters and remembers the password that came set on it?
Thanks all, only making this post because the Cash converters i bought it from is closed right now, i'll give them a call tomorrow but would like to use the Macbook ASAP.

(also there's what seems to be an EFI password so no i cannot boot from a USB or go into recovery mode to bypass it).

some posts on a forum say they got the password on a card (they did buy in store though) check the package again

    • Just double checked but nope, cannot see it anywhere in the package or inside the Macbook's box.

You bought this item without verifying it's state?

Why Lord Why do we have such people on this earth?

So, they can come and post in OzB forums…

They bought it from the online store, in this case the seller (Cash Converters) should make the condition clear and known including if there's a password/icloud lock from the previous owner.

I hate it when I buy epensive items, especially when they're expensive!

Sorry, apparently Australia's foremost bargain forum doesn't have a sufficient number of Cash Converters employees for you to obtain your answer.

      Perhaps your request was nonsense…

As they say "Ask a silly question and you'll get a silly answer".

It's a fresh day, what did cashies say when you called them? Can you tell us the password so when the next person comes along we can google it for them?

    • Maybe it is: C@5hC0nv3rt3r5

Yeah, they said the password 1971. Hope this helps someone else in the same situation.

  • try leaving the password section blank

      • man thats… random
unless u were born in 1971, or is the postcode, or part of the serial number?

      • Glad they responded - I'm actually surprised that Cash Converters would actually go to the trouble of scanning the laptops they get in. That's great news!
