I havent tried red roosters chicken yet but apparently its bomb, anyone tried it yet?

I tried it in the 80's and it was good, but I couldn't finish it all. I'll get the left overs out of the fridge tomorrow to verify my memory.

    Korean restaurants.

    • Yep IFC

      • whats iFC?

Sorry I meant ICG - incredible chicken gangjung

What is it that you like about it? Do you find the chicken drenched in that sweet soy glaze sauce too sweet? or do you think otherwise?

      • I agree. Korean fried chicken is not that special and personally I have skipped meals when someone picks a Korean fried chicken restaurant because I can't deal with the sweet sauce and plain batter.

Wicked wings suffer from the same problem, very weak flavour, almost just plain salt with chilli mixed in it?

KFC original recipe will always be #1 in my stomach.

      Gami!

    • Korean Fried Chicken - KFC - wtf?

    • Probably an unpopular opinion but Korean Fried Chicken is kind of overrated IMO. It’s fried well but on its own it’s quite bland without any sauces slathered all over it.

I personally prefer chicken with flavors that are embedded in the batter/breading, although I do enjoy buffalo wings.

Never got the appeal of KFC original recipe. The complete opposite of crispy despite being battered.

Popeyes in the States. Nothing we have here even comes close. :(

  • Since you're in Sydney: Wing Shack in Blacktown. Yes it's worth the trip. Cannot be beat.

    • I've tried it once, but i find it too bready and with that it becomes too much for me to eat. Do you find it the same?
What do you think of the spicy oil sauce poured over it. Do you like it?

      • Think you may be confusing it with something else. It's not overly bready at all and don't recall a spicy oil on either the Classic or Nashville hot chicken tenders flavours.

If you tried it, why didnt you add it to the voting list, or because you dont like it, you dont list it?

No way to conduct a "true" survey but cutting out the ones you dont like. 🤦🏻

  • fresh wicked wings and when they place enough hot sauce! or ease and price (kfc are everywhere)
i did like belles chicken but thats too far now, dont go into the office much lol

    • sounds like i have to try belles hot chicken! It always pops onto my news feed but never pulled my arse to try it. Im definitely on a fry chicken hunt this weekend.

    • the hotter the better

    KFC Hot & Spicy

    • if they bloodly have it in NSW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • They… do. A few places have it all year round, IIRC… Town Hall and Lindfield definitely have it all year round. There’s 1-2 more places that have it, I think even somewhere near Artamon (could be Lindfield though), but I can’t remember.

I am a huge fan of Nene chicken, its a Korean fried chicken joint, there freaking hot, is actually (profanity) hot, and there swicy is amazing.

    Hot Star

    • I agree Hot Star is great but isn't it only breast? I'd love to try their spin on other parts as well if they did them.

Joe's Greasy Chicken Joint does the best…

      JoOOooooOOOOOOOOooicyyyyyym :O

      • Yep,

        That's their motto…

The best joooshy and greeezy chicken this side of the bus stop…

  • Air fried 🐣 👍

    • Do you have a good air fryer recipe? I tried making some the other day, it was good but not to the same level of crispness

      • An air fryer is a great appliance but you need to remember it’s really a mini fan bake oven.

  • I really liked "Southern Fried by Burgers Anonymous" or something, but I haven't seen them for ages on uber eats. So I'd go Belles for non-fast food and KFC wicked wings for fast food.

I hope we get a schnitzel chips and gravy question next.

    • First chips, next pizza, then schnitzel chips and gravy.

I want to know where the best Bacon and Egg Rolls are..

  • +1

    the korean

  • What is it about KFC wicked wings sooooo goooooooood!? Do ya'll think the spiciness perfect/mild or too hot?

    • +2

Too mild. Needs to be more spicy.

      • They used to be spicier when they were first released, similar to “Hot & Spicy” levels. I think it was back around 2004. They’re pretty bland now sadly.

  • +3

Most korean chicken and beer restaurants. Especially the ones that gets packed after 10pm.

  • +1

    None of the above?

  • +3

Korean fried chicken are way better than what you list. Fresh, crispy and you can usually pick which flavor you like on the top but the original are great !

    Kingsleys

  • Chickila Glen Waverley

If you go to Belles choose country seasoning

Mild is not very good and anything about mild is so hot

  • Home cooked!

  • red lea is ok, bit salty though

  • Beschico if you want original mildly spicy especially juicy extra crunchy fried chicken - you dont have to look further. Beschico is in Epping in Sydney's northern suburbs - i live in inner west and i need to go there once every few weeks when i want that true fried chicken that is so much more than just kfc (even though i rate wicked wings wickedly good too).

    • I’ve seen that place but have never tried it. Will have to give it a go now!

      • +1

yes you have to! Its the first place i visited when we got out of lockdown last year and restaurants opened up for dine-in.

        • I’ve never visited because on the outside it looks pretty average. Is the spice level similar to Wicked Wings?

          • @Ghost47: yea its quite a non-descript place like the interior is very dated so you wouldnt expect the level of quality that you do get with the chicken. The spice level is comparable to WW - there may be a piece or two a tad spicier or less but overall yea quality is very high. Probs have been there at least 30 times now.

    Kfc hot and spicy coating

    • Better than original

  • Add Gami and Butter onto the list. I don't get the Belles hype.
