Apostles Wines Saltbush Durif (Case of 6) $108 + Delivery @ Dan Murphy's

41

I can only seem to buy a case rather than a bottle, which comes out to $18 a bottle.

Possible price error on eBay, but here is a link to a previous listing of the bottle alone: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apostles-Wines-Saltbush-Durif-Re…

Delivery only, shipped direct from the supplier.

Product Details
During the 1920's, Clydesdale horses were used to distribute water from the main canal to the surrounding landscape of the Riverina. Stables were placed on the corner of Apostles and Moon Roads and at night the Apostles birds would roost in the stables, sharing the horses' food and bed for the evening. Today the Apostles Wines Estate is nestled here and the canal is still the region's lifeline. Our wonderful Durif grapes thrive here, surrounded by native Saltbush. It marries well with Osso Bucco, rich cheeses, steak or a Sunday roast.

I was tempted just due to the fact that one bottle sells for $108, but this winery has no website just a facebook page with no mention on Vivino, no awards, no reviews, nothing.

    Hard pass.

Found on Vivino, bottom 18% of wines world wide. Pass

Never ever buy wine based on RRP. Rookie mistake.

  • RRP $108/btl .. LOL .. !!

I'd be pretty sure the eBay listing was a mistake and meant to be a 6-pack of this Riverina-made wine.

    • Pricehipster shows $108 was previous price of the one bottle on dan murphy’s

Pricehipster just reflecting a DM mistake, now corrected.
There are some crazy high-RRP - low sell price deals around, but I'm pretty sure this isn't one of them.

Have a look at page 17 of this document: https://canterbury.com.au/content/uploads/2021/01/Dynasty-Me…
Apostles Saltbush Durif 7 8.8 28 35 ($28pb for members, $35pb visitors) in a restaurant, so close to 100% markup based on other wine prices in the list.

        • Good find with the menu. They sell a bottle of VB for $7.5 (non members price) so it shows how inflated their beverage prices are.
