The most effective way to play PC games on TV

I theoretically could run an HDMI cord the whole distance but i was wondering what the best/cheapest streaming alternatives are?

Also wondering what the best way to connect controllers to PC are? I have a couple of wired Xbox one controllers but am imagining I'd need some wireless controllers to be able to play on the couch?

Thanks for any help.

Best way would be to run a cable to your TV then buy a wireless keyboard and mouse OR wireless Xbox controller which you can then connect to the PC via Bluetooth.

run an HDMI cord the whole distance

What is the distance? This may dictate the solution.

  • Yeah I have done this also, 10m hdmi cable 4k 60fps hdr was $70.
Works fine with wireless xbox controller usb adapter $30.
Usb extension cable for keyboard etc also works good.

  • Nothing beats using a HDMI cable.
I use a wireless xbox 360 controller and a logitech k400 keyboard/trackpad for both windows 7 and windows 10, no issues at all.
Or if you actually want to go wired, you could run a usb extension cable alongside the hdmi cable then connect your keyboard/xbox controller to the end. Neither needs much power so you could chuck a cheap unpowered usb hub at the end if you want both plugged in at the same time.
People will mention Steamlink, but honestly, if you care about your games looking as good as they are supposed to, i wouldn't waste your time.

  • hdmi and xbox controllers. I've been doing that for 5 years and it's been great.

  • Nvidia Shield and stream from your PC via Gamestream.
