Any Way to Top-up Crypto.com Debit Card without Transaction Fees ?

Is there any way to top-up the Crypto.com debit card without incurring heavy transaction fees ?

I've tried directly topping-up using my ING debit card. Even after ING's international transaction fee rebate, I end-up with approximately 1% fees because I can only seem to top-up in SGD, and there's conversion fees from AUD to SGD, and then back to AUD.

I also tried buying BTC on Crypto.com & then using that to top-up my Crypto.com card, and the fees are even higher (around 2%).

Is there any way to transfer money directly into the AUD balance of my Crypto.com, without doing currency conversion ? Or, minimise transaction fees in some other way ? Or, convert the currency of my card from SGD to AUD ?

  • Why are you using fiat to top-up debit cards? The 💡 with a debit card is to use digital assets > fiat > ☕.

Just use legacy bank-issued credit cards if you want to use fiat.

  • Have you tried revolut?

    • The premium card is $11 p/m.

      • You get a virtual card for free and use it for up to $9k a month. I've been using this for etoro.

Also depends on how much you spend $11 in the scheme of things could be negligible.

  • +1

The best way I've found is with an Up Bank account as they don't charge any foreign currency conversion fees and their card is issued with mastercard (I've heard they generally have the best conversion rates for currencies).

Sadly their isn't much more you can do at this point as the cards are issued in Singapore so they need to be topped up with SGD.

Crypto.com have received a license to issue cards in Australia though so hopefully that comes out soon and we can top up in AUD via Osko or something.

  • Has anyone try TransferWise, Ubank, or Macquiry Bank ?
