[eBook] Free PDF - The PlayStation 2 Encyclopedia (was US$1) - Itch.io

1400

This nice encyclopedia of PS2 games is free again. The encyclopedia contains every PS2 game (PAL and NTSC) split over 9 files which you can download.

There are encyclopedias for other systems available for free as well but they are always free (or name your own price) which is why they do not appear in the title.
I will include them here for the sake of completeness and for convenience. Encyclopedias for the following systems are available:

Enjoy!

    Thanks.

This won't be for most people but as a PS2 collector back in the day (around 330 games), I appreciate a compendium like this. I was fortunate enough to get titles like Kuon, Rule of Rose, Ocean Commander, schmups and others for next to nothing 10 years ago compared to now.

I find it interesting to read about all those games I missed back then.
      Even for the other systems.
I think every games should read one of them so they appreciate the choice, and graphics (and prices) of games today.
      Enjoy your read. ;-)

    • Oni could have been so much more.

Wow that’s a big collection. I had a lot of games but they were the type that you could only play if you shoved a butter knife into the disc drive…

    Cool post, thanks OP.

    You the MVP Lysander

  • This is a brilliant post

    This is great, thanks Lysander.

Imagine them being hardcover collectable books…

    • I want hardcover that looks like a ps2 console

  • This is awesome, thanks!

Anyone signed up and willing to provide direct download links? Too lazy to sign up.

    • If you make an account (which only takes a minute to do) you can claim this and download whenever you want as it is then tied to your account.

      • -1

ah man don;t want any more accounts. I will just skip it

    • +2

I'd re-upload it for you normally but these files are around 3gb total, I think it's print quality.

      • Thanks mate. Don't worry about it, was half joking about it. I don't think I have time to spend on setting up retro gaming. If I really want them, I will create an account.

Still have a truck load of unplayed games.

I could be wrong, but are you thinking these are actual game downloads? This is just a book bro

          • @Hinee: I know they are books, that's why I couldn't be bothered. I thought having some references on the games might be good, but after really thinking about it… if I really want info on old games, there is always google….

Also, my pile of shame for Series X, PS5, PC is already so long that I don't need to know what retro games to get to add to already long list of yet to play games.

      • You missed a few, I'm at over 5GB hahah

  • Thanks OP

Awesome. Thank you so much. My son will love these. Great to educate him about the games I grew up playing (from NES era onwards).

Pretty horrendous reply this one. Beat up by…your kid…if that's your attitude to parenting?

      • +8

Are you serious? No kids getting beat up because they enjoy playing 8 bit games. Many kids today are playing games for multiple hours a day.

        • Um… I would have kids playing PS5 and Series X. Hard to convince them to play old 8 bit games….

      • You must be one of those bullies from childhood that couldn't afford a console or home computer. I feel sorry of your childhood if that is the way you see life.

      • +7

LOL Are you straight out of an American high school cliche?

No kid is being made fun of for playing video games mate. If anything, you get made fun of for being such a caveman. Thanks for the laugh though.

This is such a sad reply.

It doesn't matter what the hobby is - it's a rite of passage between a parent and their child as a way of connecting with family, and passing on stories and culture.

        I hope KLoNe wasn't neglected by his/her parent(s).

        "literally"… riiiiiiight.

  • Awesome, thanks

  • Out of curiosity do ppl just enjoy reading and seeing what games were out there? Or just to find and emulate and play? It's a shame i still have the cbb old ps2 we bought and hardly played. Wonder if it's worth dragging our. A fair few games like Final fantasy X. But these are all remastered on ps4 now so wondering if retro gfx make for a worthwhile play or just jump straight to modern day remasters hmmm
