What Is The Reason for "Username Checks out" Comments?

After ignoring such comments for years, I can bear it no longer. What do these comments really mean?

I could understand if it refers to someone who claims to represent a company but otherwise have no idea. TIA.

      I did, restricting my search to the ozbargain.com.au domain as I thought the term was specific to this site. I now know that isn't the case.

      Is posting this question and having a relevant answer for others to see so bad?

        I always thought the term "broden" was unique to this site. I was wrong.

            @John Kimble: But scroll down to the other definitions. Nasty stuff about dogs and rats etc.

            Eg.

            A broden is a fat xxxc who Likes to xxxx his dog and looks like a caveman

          That's blatant self-promotion there!!

          That definition was made by:

          "Broden, August 30, 2015"

          And they've only contributed this one thing to UrbanDictionary.
