  • I chose four from Market lane but the checkout price is $57.80 not 39.9

    • Hey there, the price in brackets is an example of what a bundle could cost. Each coffee has a slightly different price (mentioned in build next to each coffee).
      Apologies about the confusion.

Just want to say i really enjoyed the coffees ordered from Direct Coffee. Will order again in a couple of weeks time when you have another deal for me to get a fresh batch. Cheers :)

    • Glad to hear :)

Any chance of a 500g deal? I don't really drink that much coffee otherwise I'd get a kg. The Market Lane Marimbus is really good.

    • Sure thing! If you pop through a PM or WhatsApp I'll help you out :)

Anyone use BES870 and care to share their dosing for these coffees?

Bought Padre’s DG blend and AXIL’s seasonal during the last deal. I quite like the AXIL one but can’t seem to make a comparable coffee with the DG blend.
They do have a recommended dose on their website but it’s too much to fit in the basket. Using the ratio they mention I have to set the grind down to 3 which is what older coffee beans would need in the past. Even then I just can’t get tasting good and the pour is very thin and non syrup-y looking.

I’d recommend the AXIL seasonal blend though, will purchase again once I run out.

      Hey there!

Ooh that'd be me I've got that machine :)

I'd suggest trying an 18g dose and reducing the yield accordingly to 32g~.

Let me know how that goes :)

Thanks, will give it a go when I open my second bag. What grind setting would you recommend and do you time the shot or just extract it to 32g?

        • Hey there, just to clarify grind settings - when you say that it's looking very thin and non syrupy on a grind setting of 3 - what was the total yield?

Yep, you still want to time it but adjust it down accordingly based on the lower dose and yield. So you'd be aiming in the low to mid 20s~.

          • +1

@directcoffee: Yield would have been high 30s from memory.

I'd have to set the grind to 3 or lower and tamp really hard to get it to pour for 20-25s, especially to get 32g. But will give it a go!

I usually set the grind to 5 and can extract for ~25 seconds to yield 35-38g which is the sweet spot for most other beans I've tried. Grind 5 with Padre's extracts too quick, within 10-15s I'd have at least 30g.

I think I'll pop open some Padre's tonight and aim for your suggestion, thanks for your help.
