Mens Belts (Dual business use / night out style)

Hey guys

I've been a bit miffed for a while when trying to buy belts because:

  • Most places sell the same belts from the same factory, just rebranded
  • For those particular belts, the quality is poor (I have had 3 break within 6 months each.. no I'm not buying a size thats too small lol)
  • They charge $50-$60 for belts that dont last
  • The same belts used to be stocked, years ago, by Big W for $20
  • I can't seem to find decent looking belts that are not made by that bloody factory. Being in WA is perhaps not helpful.

Now, I'm after anywhere that sells a nice looking work/dress black belt. No surf brands etc. It can be either good quality and relatively pricier, or cheap and inferior.

I've tried to find somewhere online myself. Only place I came up with was http://www.tiesncuffs.com.au/Belts_Business-Belts which, incidentally, is stocking some of the 'crap' belts I was talking about for $38.

Help??

(Edit: Places for black work shoes would be useful too. I tend to like non-shiny, slipon, pointy black work/dress shoes.. options at each etailer are usually limited for those criteria)

    Should try this site http://en.vancl.com/
Although shipping takes awhile around 2~4weeks it's got free shipping and prices are pretty cheap too.
Just note, try to look at the pictures without models in them as they're more accurate in showing what they really look like when you get em.
Mm, they also do 25$ off on 79$+ purchases.

    • Cheers, those are good prices. Wish they had a larger selection.

  • If you're signed up to the Tarocash birthday thing, they sometimes have some OK looking belts (very average quality) that are usually about $50, so with the $50 birthday voucher comes out free :)

  • I had one of those 'reconstituted' belts from Big W that split after a few months so took them back. The lady looked at the recipt and said "but you bought these 3 months ago?!" and I replied with "how long do you suggest I wait before they fall apart?". I got my refund.

Big W do sell genuine leather belts for either $20 or $30 (can't remember) but everytime I go they don't have my size. Style is simple business look in either black or brown. Regent Street brand but be sure to read the back of the belt for "Genuine leather".

  • yd. has belts as well

they have a 2 sided(reversibe belt), not sure about the price though

  • Yeah Domingo and issh, it's YD and Tarocash that stock the 'junk' belts I'm talking about. There are actually a few styles of those belts that I quite like. I'm wearing one right now. But $50-$60 for something that falls apart… I'm just not prepared to do it again!

Tarocash actually has some really nice shirts, so that's where the birthday vouchers will go if I ever sign up :)

  • Ok,

I've literally trawelled through 2000 belts!

This has a couple of nice ones, but overall not too special

Amazon (US) had a couple nice ones.

Ebay, which I had avoided (I feared the number of search results for "mens belt") actually worked out quite good. Typically lower quality but for $20 or so the belts are appropriately priced.
