  • Thanks Tom

  • Very limited sizes

  • Thinking of trying the Mizuno Sky Waveknit 3 to replace my Kayano 25s that I've never loved.

Anybody got any input on the fit of the Mizunos? Think I'll be safe ordering the same size as the Kayanos?

Hmm, or maybe some New Balance Zantes, decisions!

    • +1

Mizuno Sky and Kayano are a similar fit. The Kayano is a little narrower.

      • That's great to know, thanks for the help. Do you have any idea on how the NB Zante pursuit compares? It's the other one I'm tossing up between.

        Cheers!

        • Zante is a light weight trainer with a tight upper, Skyknit 3 is a lot heavier and probably more stable. Two really different shoes.

Why don't you like Kayano? It's a stability shoes whereas both the New Balance & Mizuno here are neutral shoes.

          • @scotty: I went with the Skyknit 3 in the end.

I'm not much of a runner, just do 5km a couple of times a week (at most). When I had finally killed my old pair of Asics (cumulus or nimbu s maybe?)I got fitted up at Athlete's foot and they put me in the Kaynaos. They're a nice shoe buy I have pretty constant issues with a 'hot' forefoot after 3km or so of each run.

Based on what I know from my physio now too I'm more prone to supination than pronation, so I don't really think a stability shoe is ideal for me, hence wanting to try something in a more neutral runner.

At this price I'll give them a whirl and if they don't work for runs hopefully they'll at least be comfy enough to walk around in.

            • @Srey: Yeah the Skyknit would be similar to your old Cumulus/Nimbus. It just irks me that shoe stores recommend people with Kayano when many people actually don't need it.

    • Big Fan of the Mizuno's, I have both Kayano's and Mizunos Wavesomethings.

  • Tom. Is there a men's. / Woman filter?
    Couldn't see it.

  • Can't resist ASICS Tartheredge @$99. I wear US10 in Kayano 25 4E and 10.5 in most other shoes with 280mm wide feet. Should I order US10 or 10.5 in Tartheredge?

    • Tartheredge is Asics' traditional racing flat with minimum upper, thin slab of midsole & super lightweight — the complete opposite of Kayano. It might not be what you are looking for…

      • You're absolutely right but I only walk or take easy runs in Kayanos and Tarthers are presumably for my track and speed days.

  • Grabbed a Wave Sky 3 since no stocks for my size on ASICS ones. Thanks OP

  • Grabbed a couple of pairs of the 4E Kayanos, always tough finding them at this big a discount.
