In the recent bargain (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/608780 for the LAPAC1200C) I grabbed two of the LAPAC1750C - in part based on reading that the devices can be managed locally. On registering for the Cloud Management service, I was immediately taken to the guide for upgrading to cloud management version 2.0 - which adds some nice features, like 802.11r, but also appears to permanently remove local management from the devices.
Unlike the Cloud Management 1.0, the Cloud Management 2.0 also has a 'lifetime access' - which is basically the lifetime of the policy.
I'm figuring that I will avoid Cloud Management 2.0 like the plague, as I'm pretty sure lifetime access will get cut pretty promptly, and I'll be unable to manage the devices at all because of the 'no local management' change. I'm curious as to whether others are making the same decision.
