  Please note that the DisplayLink DL-3900 chipset only supports Dual monitors display resolutions up to 1920x1080 @60Hz.

  If you have something like a 34" ultrawide (3440 x 1440) but the other monitor is 1920x1080 or less, you could possibly plug in Monitor 2 to the dock and then (hopefully) have a HDMI slot on your laptop to direct connect to the larger monitor. If kind of defeats the purpose of a nice single place to plug and play but it works.

  will something like this provide dual monitor support regardless of the pc specification?

  i need to help someone who has a el cheapo laptop, it has a USB-C port but it doesn't support video as its for power delivery only, so an adaptor wont work.
