  • Curious to know what this Audiobook is doing on a religious site.

    Thanks for the post :)

Because C.S. Lewis also wrote Christian apologetics books?

      Great find though. Thanks!

Because the whole story of Narnia is allegorical and meant to be representative of Christianity.

      • ^ this

except the movies have this whole underage bestiality going on

  • Great find. I haven't listened to these, but the official CD recordings available from www.koorong.com are good and not too expensive. Doesn't hurt to have free options though.

If anyone is interested in other free audio books, don't forget about www.librivox.org, which has lots of public domain texts read by ordinary people. The quality varies a bit, but some are really good. I recommend Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer stories.

There's also a great app on both iOS and Android that plays audio books from librivox. It's called "Audiobooks" by "Traveling Classics" (yes one l in "Traveling"). It will download the files as you need them and remembers where you were up to (mostly).

  • If you use "Down Them All" (Firefox Extension) to download these, a good renaming mask is "name (flattitle).ext". The name part is the file name, which is sequential from con_001 (con=Chronicles Of Narnia) through to con_104, the flattitle will be the book and chapter (unfortunately with "Listen to" at the start, but this can be fixed using a batch renamer later), then .mp3.

    • You can also use iTunes to download them.
