    Whisky stones are pointless because they can't melt. And don't even look cool. And you might accidently drink one.

  Whiskey stones don't cool your drink as effectively as ordinary ice, but they also don't water it down. So if you just want to prioritise a cold drink, choose ice.

  used them only once or twice since i bought some. They dont work anywhere as well as you think they might, a waste of money

    If there is no phase transition, then the product will not cool/heat well no matter what it is made of.

  Ice works better as it absorbs latent heat while melting. And I like adding cold water to whiskey.

  avoid whisky stones, they are bad news

  firstly, so many of them start chipping and starts crumpling,

  rub them together and you can see the sand/dust come off

  also, they can chip your teeth

  also, part of the attraction/benefit of drinking with real ice, is the watering down to bring out the flavour depending on the type of whisky

  If you want a neat but cold whisky, just put the bottle in the freezer , whiskey doesn't freeze at household freezer temp
