Where Are All The Paddy's Day Beer Offers?

Historically, there is usually a few beer offers listed around this time of year to celebrate all things Irish and St. Patrick's Day.
This is when I usually stock up on my supply of Guinness and Kilkenny slabs for the winter months.
However this year there doesn't seem to be any offers around with many of the usual suppliers still selling at their usual RRP prices.
For the past few years I have managed to get these around the $50 to $55 a slab.
I am wondering if this is because of Covid and the limitation placed on imported deliveries?

I may have to go cold turkey if the prices remain as high as they are….

Supply and demand? Demand is high, so why discount?

    • Its certainly looking that way…

  • Lay off the booze

  • Ireland's been in lockdown for months and aren't due to come out of lockdown for a while yet, they have no drink to spare. Best I've seen is $15 for a 6 pack of Kilkenny at Dan murphys members offers, so yeah, no real deals this year.

There’s a supply issue with the widgets in the cans, so stock has been very hard to get. I’m guessing the retailers know that they can get the non-discounted price because there’s a shortage. Guinness sent out an email about low stocks a little while ago

  • Honestly I don’t drink Guinness unless I’m at a Irish pub. It just isn’t the same. Beer deals might be coming tomorrow or Friday. People will be having St Patty’s day parties on Friday/Saturday.

    • I agree its not the same - but then drinking at home - whatever your tipple - never is either.

Never thought about the delayed parties so fingers crossed something will come through…

      • I mean I’d love to go for a Guinness tonight but I have work tomorrow.

  • Dan Murphy's has a member offer of 6 pack of kilkenny for $15.
That's a bit of a discount; though not as good as $50 a slab :-(

    • That seems to be the best offer at the moment and one I have my on.

I will get half a dozen slabs on Saturday if this is still the best deal around.
