Soccer Net Outdoor Set For Kids?

Hey,

Does anyone have any recommendations? There's alot on eBay, haven't checked Amazon yet but it's difficult to know which are quality or junk.

It's for my nephew, he's 6.

They range from $30-90, hoping a few people have bought one before and can guide me in the right direction.

Thank you

  • Buy from K-Mart, return if crap?

    76cm wide though :/

They are quite small so it's probably worth getting something bigger given that he is 6. I've tried these before and they are junk.

Are you looking for pop up goals or a single goal that will be permanently in the back yard?

For decent gear that will last, I suggest PFG or Veto. For pop up goals, I suggest the 6ft pair from PFG. The Umbro goals at Rebel should be decent as well.

For a more permanent set up, you could look at a 3mx2m PVC which he'll be able to use as he gets older.

    • I like some of these, but being that he's turning 6 i'm not convinced on what he'll stick with. I find that I buy him so many toys, and they basically end up in the bin. Its why I dont like K-Mart, and id rather buy quality but only if I know it won't end up in storage or the bin.

  • Thank you for the replies, I totally forgot K-Mart has them.

My brother backyard is quite small, so I couldn't go very wide..

    • If it’s from Kmart the quality isn’t going to be great, but your.m budget’s a bit low to get good quality.

In my experience if it’s going to be left outside the stitching will fail first.

  • Try Rebel?

  • does it need to rebound? (bounce the ball back to him because he's playing by himself)

  • https://www.profootballgroup.com.au/products/porta-gol-round… Is cheaper than Rebel $60 https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/umbro-4ft-pop-up-goal-583002… , I'm not sure which is better quality but my brother mentioned a smaller one wold be a better fit.

    • That style is super quick to put up and down, but really prone to blowing away. We have a couple of Aldi ones that are good for taking to the park etc. putting them away really extends the life. A 6-8yo probably won’t be able to fold them.

      • Yeah, my brother will either leave it set up or do it himself.

He has a tiny backyard, so I doubt he wants a 2m wide but I'll confirm again.

      • Just noticed Kmart has one for $16

It looks exactly the same, Rebels if $50

  • Got this one Xmas 2019 still in great shape. Put together once and left it set up outside.
    It’s a decent size at 2mt wide.
