Recommended SD Card for Blackvue Dash Cam

Hi Guys,
Can't seem to find the info but I remember reading that there is only certain robust SD cards that is recommended for use with the Blackvue dash cams if you are not using the Blackvue branded ones. Keen to buy a large capacity one. Know the camera can take up to 256gb card. I think it was the Samsung Pro Endurance and Sandisk High Endurance brand ones that were recommended for longevity and compatibility with the Blackvues. Keen to clarify if there is any preference between the two or is it a matter of finding best price.

  • Yes you want an SD card designed for long endurance continuous recording.

I have a Sandisk Max Endurance 128 GB as recommended for my Mivue dual camera. There is also a Sandisk high endurance.

The Samsung Pro Endurance and High Endurance I assume would perform very well, not sure which is the higher rated one

    • This is the card Right Here

And be aware that SD cards are consumables, they do wear out. Get a few of them and shove them in the glovebox.

  • If I remember correctly it was Samsung Endurance Pro ones.

Disclaimer: Not a blackvue owner atm, missed the last repco and waiting for the next one.

      • Hi,

while not as good as the repco deal, you still have enough time to snag one from this ebay seller with the afterpay deal:

      • Thanks mate. I checked it this morning and for some reason it's not accepting the After Paycode :(

        • Interesting, wonder if some temporary issue. I've managed to snag one and just checked again and seems like the code is applied correctly.

      • Thanks heaps. Was debating between the 750X-2Ch and the 750 2CH LTE. - seems crunch time might have just popped up:)

As KZ26 said, the Samsung Pro Endurance would be my choice. It does have the longest warranty when compared with the SanDisk 3 years instead of 2 years. Also, compared to what Blackvue charges for their SD Cards, the Samsung Pro Endurance does offer more value for money and is specifically designed for dashcams. Currently using a 32gb Samsung Pro Endurance with my DR750s no issues. The Dashcam depending on which model, will format the SD automatically.

Endurance rated cards are the way to go.

However, I've been using a regular Samsung card 9 hours a day, 6 days a week for 2 years. No issues.

  • Whatever you do choose, just remember to check them they are still actually working properly every so often. Out of all my SD cards they are in the most hostile conditions (hot/cold and probably the longest amount of continuous video recording).

Blackvue recommends Samsung Pro Endurance if you don't want their own overpriced cards.
