Coles Prepaid Mastercard Paid Energy Bill through Auspost, but Merchant Did Not Receive Fund

Coles Prepaid Mastercard Paid energy bill through Auspost, but merchant did not receive fund
Coles Finicial Services customer representative said fund was paid to Auspost as they can see in the transaction history
Auspost said transaction was processed successfully, they would nenver hold any fund in between credit card company and biller, fund would go straight from card company to the biller
Energy company checked all their transctions but cannot see the payment went through

I had to pay the energy company extra so that they wouldn't terminate my power supply
Asked if coles matercard can do chargeback, they refused, as it is not credit card
My receipt from Auspost is still present

Now what to do, can anyone give me any suggestions?

Forward the Australia Post receipt to your energy company after checking the Post Bill Pay biller code and Reference are correct and let them deal with it.

As far as you are concerned you have made the payment as instructed by your energy company via a channel that they stipulated and it is now their responsibility to follow it up with Australia Post.

    • Energy company refused to talk to auspost, as they said I was the card holder and I made the payment to auspost. They couldn't speak on behalf of me

They are trying to pass the buck. It is their responsibility to follow it up with Australia Post as they have nominated Australia Post as an agent to collect payments on their behalf. Send them an email with details and copy of the receipt and wait for their written response. If the issue is not resolved contact your states energy ombudsman. (Queensland - https://www.ewoq.com.au)

You will be surprised how often companies sing a different tune when it comes to giving anything in writing.

        • Thank you very much!
I am so glad that we have all those ombudsman is queensland that can help customers to deal with problems in state, rather than going to the national level.
I just sent the energy company an email as what you suggested and see what they will do. I would go to the ombudsman if it is not resolved.

    • Thanks for your help! I will try this

  • You should be able to look up the balance on the web and where it went

    • It said it went to the post office, but auspost said they are just like cashier, no fund would stay with them

      • so you have the web transaction? Send everyone a copy of that too

        • Surely, sounds great. Just sent auspost messenger my receipts. Thanks!
