Note for Xbox owners, the physical Xbox one copy cannot be upgraded to the series X version, it's only available for digital copies as Activision did not want to use smart delivery so they can milk their customers of more money..

Ps4 physical edition can be upgraded to ps5 for around ~$13 through a cross gen deluxe upgrade purchase.

      Cheers. Saved me $30

Damn that’s pretty garbage but also on brand for them

Yeh classic activision. They did the right thing with free upgrades for crash 4 but then back to their usual ways.

Also saved me $30, looks like it comes out in 3 days but

$84.95 is very expensive from Microsoft, are there any other ways to get the Series X version cheaper?

I don't see anywhere saying specifically you could buy this physical version and then upgrade for a smaller fee like on Playstation?

    • I don't understand. I thought XBox Series was backwards compatible with all XBox One and XBox 360 titles.

      • Yes, but he’s saying you have to pay extra to get the upgraded version.

It runs but some games get upgrades that optimise them for the new consoles. In most cases this is free, in some exceptional cases like this it’s a paid upgrade. The backwards compatible will run as if it was on a One X for Series X systems. This updates version adds 4k 60fps or 1080p 120fps and a few other things. Have to wait and see but the upgrades don’t seem worthy of a re-buy to me.

Urgh, just read this as well.

To be honest I thought I would enjoy this game a lot more than I did. It was ok but the nostalgia was strong, reckon I only played it for a few hours and didn’t go back to it again.

That’s what’s holding me back from buying it.

I was kind of the same. That being said it’s an incredibly well done remake and I’ll grab the upgrade on my ps5. Hopefully get back into it more.

That’s better than I did, bought before Christmas for $49 and still in its plastic wrapper.
