Touchscreen Replacement ASUS VivoBook Cost

Hi my daughter’s touchscreen laptop - ASUS VivoBook - which is less than a year old and cost $650 has a cracked screen and so the touch feature and track pad don’t work.

All the repair quotes suggest a cost of 450-600 to repair and I’m wondering if I’m just better on cutting losses and getting her a new one. If the replacement cost was closer to 200 I would do it but not when it’s so close to price I paid for the new unit.

Does that repair sound right?

    No insurance?

    Sounds a little expensive.

    • Just got my quote from this company - $379 including pick up and delivery genuine parts plus 3 yr warranty- getting closer to a viable price.

  • Thanks will try them. No insurance for the item and home and contents don’t cover it.

Most screen replacements almost cost around $500 upwards I would just buy new and have new warranty

Think of it this way, a new laptop has a $400-600 discount :)

You should consider buying a tempered glass screen protector for the new laptop.

    • Ok never thought of that - but then I’d never given a laptop to a 12 year old before.
