Hyundai Accent Active 2015 - Price Guide

Hello OzBargain community.

I was wondering if someone could please tell me how much a 2015 Hyundai Accent Active Automatic should be worth roughly, it's got less than 40,000 KMs.

Car looks pretty much new like but of course it's not it's 6 years, and 40,000 km old

Just wanting to know so I know if I am not overpaying.

It's an old Hyundai Accent, whatever you're paying for it is already too much.

$10k is good. $11k is average. $12k is okay in clean condition. $15k you're getting ripped off.

    • Yup it's a private sale, and something around 11,000 for an automatic car is it that just Average, 12000 just okay

Might help if you narrow down to Automatic transmission:

Looking at 2015 onwards, yeah you'd wanna be buying it for sub-$12k

OP, just negotiate on this one, given it's a year newer. Though of course, check the condition

      • That one has 73000+ KMs, I think at that price KMs should be like around half of that

        • Average kms are 10-15,000/yr. A 5yo car then would be 50-75,000kms. So it's average mileage for it's age

If anything you need to be more careful about lower mileage cars, as the owners might not service them on time, or the car could sit longer than normal which can affect the tyres, battery and alternator.

          • @spackbace: not disagreeing with your average KM's…

my father in law has the exact car OP wants. except he bought his in jan 2017 and has only got 15000 km on it…it is a rarity but they exist.. hahaha

@Archi: Oh absolutely they exist, I don't doubt that for a second. Just that the ones that are stupidly low kms can be in average mechanical condition due to lack of maintenance.

These normally will have the owner proudly saying "new battery, new tyres" etc coz the old ones were shot lol

              • @spackbace: Yup. Most people don't realise low kilometer cars that only run short trips are the worst for engines.

Need to take the car for a 100km run on the high ways once a month to get it up to temperature and get the moisture out of the motor oil otherwise it is like toxic sludge.

            • @Archi: If you don't mind sharing what was value for that vehicle

              • @USER DC: no the car wasn't for sale.. but if i was to sell it i'd probably be asking 12K

  • Search car sales by vehicle, kms etc. have a look at what a few are asking and make your own judgement based on what other ads you see. It’s not difficult.

To me a 2015 accent is worth $5k.

    • 5k is offcourse ridiculous mate no one would sell it for 5k even with 200,00 km in 6 years

  • Looking at

    https://www.carsguide.com.au/cars-for-sale/D_11652785/

Seems like even 10,000on private sale is higher, if dealership is selling at 11,000 a 2017 model with similar 44,K km

    • FYI that 'dealership' is a wholesale yard.

I doubt that car is in A1 condition…

It also has a brand new rego plate on it… again, a sign that it's not great. That could be a sign of a written-off vehicle being relicensed.
