TP-Link KP105 $21.95 + Delivery ($0 C&C /In-Store) @ Bunnings

280

These are the replacement for the old TP-Link HS100, which occupies a little too much space. With the KP105, you can fit two in double wall points. Uses the same Kasa app.

I was in-store on March 26th and found that they scanned at $20, but not sure if they're still cheaper there.

The KP115 is also available but it's not really on special.

      Yeah, was $20 on Friday

These were $20 the other week when I searched.

How is a price increase a bargain?

  • They're doing some specials on the Arlec smart power points too. If you can find the one with usb ports on the side, my local had it at $9

    • link? or is it in store only?

Instore only I think. Its a clearance item, but I just came back from one store with 7 units, so they're still around. You have to check multiple areas though, as the shelf was empty in the electrical section at the back, but full in the security area at the front.

Edit: Here's a snap of what it looks like https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/24621/87937/img_202103…

    Does this have coil whine?

  • Cheaper of you have access to goodguys commercial

  • If you're desperate for the older HS100, my local Bunnings had them for $19.

    • what are the advantages/disadvantages of the older one?

      • Disadvantage of HS100 takes up more room (can't use the 2nd wall point)

        • ahh.. cool.

  • Possibly a dumb question, I noticed it says total loading 10A on it. Does anyone know if it's safe to run a power board of these?
I have my TV/AMP/Consoles running off a powerboard and would like to run them all through a smart plug like this if it's safe to do so

    • Standard power sockets in Oz have a max rating of 10A anyway, so you should never go beyond that. And for that reason you will never find a (legitimate) device that has a higher rating anyway.

You can get 15A sockets, normally in garages or caravan parks, but they have a wider earth pin so you can't accidentally plug a 15A appliance into a 10A socket

      • Thanks for your reply mate

  • Link to Bunnings now shows price at $20 not as per OP listed: "TP-Link KP105 $21.95 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Bunnings".

May be cheaper with PowerPass (??? check App), given this appears to now be the standard (non-discounted) price for this item??

    Twin-pack cheaper at JBHiFi - $37
