Good price. Cheapest I have seen. Closest price I have seen is $40.95 with dev. http://www.crazysales.com.au/sandisk-extreme-16gb-hd-video-m…

  • no similar 32gb cards?

  • Note, not really a negative or positive. delivery is shockingly slow to WA. i ordered and payment received on 8th December 2011 and has not received my SD card yet.

    • was considering buying until I saw this post.
Seems worthy of a neg imo

More than a month!!! Too l..o..n…g…

      • I just got an email saying mine is posted (purchased today).. I'd be giving them a call bakaneko

        • Ditto, I got an email within an hour and a half saying it was posted …

        • yeah did that just then talk to a very polite girl. she said she will follow up and give me a call back tomorow :3

hopefully i get it before my trip :3

    • same for me in WA ordered 19 dec still no card asked to wait until friday and see if it comes

    • Have you compared the performance of these "comparable" cards?
If so, how do the cheap cards compare?
Do they have the same read speed?
      the same write speed?
and importantly, are they actually 16Gb or are they 2Gb cards hacked to appear as 16Gb cards (as is common on eBay?)

      • Transcend ones fare 90% speed of Extremes.

Extreme video I remember seeing the catch, it's a bit slower than non video Extremes.

In either case, no SDHC camera can read/write faster than 20MB/s, and SDXC ones can go much faster, so it's a waste of $ to get a 30MB/s

      • They are 16GB - have two of them. Work fine with my camcorder which is from Christmas 2011.
Also, seel comment below. If camera can only write at a certain speed, why have faster cards?

        • 1) I have an SDXC capable camera but can't find a SDXC card anywhere near this price range… (cheapest on shopbot is a 64Gb A-RAM at $83)… and at this stage I can't see myself filling 16Gb - let alone 64Gb - before transferring them to my server… even in RAW that's a lot of photos!
I believe my camera WILL write at the full 30MB/s to this SDHC card.

          2) Faster Read means faster copying off the card

          3) HD Camcorder only needs Class 6 from memory… Wheras burst mode in RAW at 18mpixels/frame needs speed to keep up.

        • Yeah HD camcorders only need a reliable class 6 - consumer AVCHD specifications currently cap data rates at 28 Mbits/sec = 3.5 MB/s. Plus they record data in a steady stream, whereas cameras will try to flush their buffer out as fast as they can (so faster cards are more useful on high end cameras rather than consumer camcorders).

    • I had eBay cards once. They all died within a year - they use crappy 2nd-rate chips. In comparison, I still have a ton of 512MB and 1GB cards from Sandisk and Kingston that work fine.

Data storage is a bad, bad place to skimp out on. Go ahead and skimp out on your CPU, monitors, video cards, etc - all they can do is make life slower and less pleasant for you. Skimp on your memory cards, and prepare for heartbreak when they abruptly die and take down all of your recent memories with them!

  • ive got one of these cards and they write only 15mbs/sec so i dont know what to think.

    • The write speed can depend on what you're using it with.

Also where did you buy yours from?

      • i think i got it from mobileciti or it could have been this mob, not sure but i did get it when it appeared here on OzBargain.

im testing the card with h2testw where it copies 16gb of data then verifies the data giving the actual read and write speeds.

        • Maybe check out what card reader you're using to test it - could be the bottleneck. I don't know which reader in particular is best but AFAIK built-in readers for laptops are usually faster as they bypass the USB interface (unless of course they connect internally to USB… which some do =/)

And of course remember that speed is an absolute unwarranted maximum which might potentially possibly hypothetically be achieved if the card is blank, you're transferring big blocks of data, the moon is precisely at 147/256-ths of its monthly lunar cycle, etc etc.

The $36.50 price is great. Thank you for the deal. Very nice card.

The $129 RRP is total BS. I bought two of the same from MSY for $52 each early last month.

Bought one of this SD card from them before, very good card and fast speed, recommanded. By the way, when can we have some deals for 32G Scandisk?

  • Cheers, just ordered 2.

Have been chasing some new cards, have been trying to get someone to price match epix (16gb 30mb cards for $31, and they have a store at the gold coast) - http://www.e-piix.com/memory-cards/high-speed-sdhc-cards/san…

    • Got an email saying it was posted, and then another email with an AAE tracking number (cool, that was with the free shipping option). Tracking says it was picked up from Sumner Park, which is like 10mins down the road from me haha, hopefully that means I'll get it tomorrow (not that I would care, i'm not back in brisbane until friday :p)

      thumbup so far :)

  • I'm not too sure whether all Class 10 cards are similar speeds, but you can buy a 32gb Fujitsu Class 10 for $42

    http://www.orangeit.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=84…

Or a Fujitsu 16gb micro with adaptor Class 10 for $29

    http://www.orangeit.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=84…

    • only rated 10mb/s - you get what you pay for :)

      • Not really, Class 10 means MINIMUM speed is 10mb/s

ive got one of these cards and they write only 15mbs/sec so i dont know what to think.

Clearly the rep has stated the maximum speed here……or hopefully I'm wrong : )

  • Hey Rep, I ordered 3 and paid express delivery, am wanting them for friday to take away, are they going to make it? Im in NSW

  • Nice one!

My mate in America just sent me one of these for $30USD.

So this is a really good deal for Australian pricing.

  • Just bought one for the only camera we have left with a 2Gb card … great deal, thanks!!

  • Is there any difference between this memory card and the extreme SDHC card?

the only difference i can see is that Sandisk Extreme HD Video SDHC has 5 year manufacturer warranty and probably more suitable for video recording, where as the extreme SDHC card has lifetime warranty… (not too sure about the video side of things, i only use mine for photography)

  • Picked me up one of these - looks great!

  • Oh man I have $36.48 in paypal right now.

  • Real world (Canon 1100d - pick up on other OzB thread :)
am I going to notice a difference in speed between this and a
Patriot LX Pro (32Gbs for ~$55)
    http://www.patriotmemory.com/products/detailp.jsp?prodline=4…

    or a Transcend Class 10 (32GBs for ~$75)
    http://www.transcend-info.com/products/Catlist.asp?LangNo=0&…

Those slight delays when reviewing photos on cameras can be annoying - would there really be any difference or would the limitation be the camera?

It is a great price on the Sandisk but can get double the space for just a bit extra elsewhere.

    • I bought the Transcend 32Gb Class 10 the other day for $57 at Arc computers

  • Hmm one of the australian online sellers has the 32Gb Sandisk Extreme HD Video for $78 shipped - might solve my dilemma.
    http://www.crazysales.com.au/sandisk-extreme-hd-video-memory…

    • those guys dotn always sell australian stock. So verify that it is original

Am I missing something? Aside from some meaningless, marketing buzzwords like "Extreme HD Video".
(What exactly does that mean? It's intended for beheading videos and honey-moon suites?)

    How is this a bargain?

    http://www.msy.com.au/default.jsp?category=80
    http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=sdhc+class+…

MSY have a 16GB Kingston Class 10 SDHC for $29 as well as a near-identical San Disk for $35.

They also recently had the 32GB Class 10 Patriot SDHC on special for 31 dollars until the 10th, now it's back up to $39 (still a friggin' excellent price).

Considering how many branches MSY have now, distance isn't really a valid excuse to oppose my neg for this deal.

Yes SDXC's ExFAT can support files larger than 4GB but that's only really relevant for Camcorders and most Camcorders these days are direct-to-HDD/Internal flash or optical-based.
SDXC is just marketing fluff for the most part and doesn't warrant the premium attached.

    • did u ever bother comparing the read/write speeds of those cards to this card before making meaningless comments? or do u want to continue whinging? Class 10 is not everything. I suggest u do some reading up.

    • Am I missing something?

      Yes, yes you are.

      http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/compactflash-sdhc-class-…

(Note that review shows the SanDisk Extreme 16GB - has the same apparent specifications as the Extreme HD Video. Googling reviews for the HD Video just finds lots of people standing around confused about what that "HD Video" part actually means.)

  • Amar89 (the poster of the negative above), you aren’t comparing simular products.
MSY does sell the same card, its $54 http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=8311.
So getting it $17.50 cheaper with free postage is definitely a bargain.

    • I ordered 2 yesterday afternoon with express shipping and they arrived at 10am today. Very impressive.

  • Just ordered one. Was told it would be posted today:)

  • It's the cheapest I've ever seen, however;I've got one for $42 from elsewhere.

  • I pickup sandisk 32gb class 10 from officework for $84 after they pricematch mobileciti price and 5% discount again

  • has anyone got their sandisk cards? how do they perform?

  • yes i have gotten the sandisk will update with test tomorrow.

on a side note i ordered before 8th December 2011(payment was process on 8th). and received the card on February 3rd 2012 (2 days before my trip to japan!!!). also don't bother emailing. ring uniquemobiles instead. email never gotten a reply.

i hope everyone else got their card :3
