Movie Tickets (hoyts/village)

With all good movies coming in within this month and the next, i am looking to save some money to get cheap movie tickets for me and my gf.

We'd like to stay away from cheap Tuesday, however restriction for after 5pm on Saturday is OK (usually go to cinema on Friday eve or Sunday).

Hoyts or Village is the cinema option (unless other have better cinema and/or cheaper price).

The cheapest I can get at the moment is $10.50 each for Village, or $11 for Hoyts (in 10 tickets).

ps. I am in Melbourne (if that matter).

    … there is the Greater Union offer however cinemas look limited in Victoria - below previously mentioned by others here

    Book via eVent (eventcinemas.com.au), select your movie and proceed to pick the number of tickets. In the URL change the "bookingSource" to equal "optus" (eg. … &bookingSource=optus) and hit enter to refresh the page … new ticket category now avaiable "Optus Offer"

      It's been more than 11 years since last time i went to Greater Union on Russell St. And it was awful, the most crap factor about it is the seat, with very low back, my whole head and good upper part of my shoulder hanging out, i remember clearly i had sore neck after the movie (which i remember, Lake Placid - not a terribly bad movie, just bad seating ruined it).

      Thanks for it is a good price though ($8.90!) - but until somebody tells me they removed the low back chairs and install something decent to seat on (last time i heard of a friend went there about 6-7 yrs ago, still the same), i'll stay away from it.

        I think the seats are still sort of low, but I think they have refurbished it with new covers. I went last year.

    if you have bupa, use their benefit for kids movie tickets. Adult was about 10.50, but kids ( from memory) maybe ~8
