Optimiser Search in Fusion Solar App - What Is It and Why Do We Have It?

Hi, I used the option 'Optimiser search' on my fusion solar app just to kill my curiosity around what it does. I couldn't find what exactly the option does online or in the device manual (except for what is seen in the attached image) . I now kind of feel that my solar output is lower than usual after using it. Just a feeling and have no idea what this is functionality is supposed to do. Does anyone here know if it is harmful to use this option? Here is a screenshot of the pop-up message when I click on it, https://imgur.com/a/bVK2GkS

I have got Huawei SUN2000-5KTL-L1 5KW inverter and the FusionSolar app connects to it.

Any help with the info would be much appreciated. Thanks

    I only have a very vague understanding of this, but an Optimiser is a device that throttles panel output such that one panel that is prone to shading doesn't bring down the output of the rest of the string.
    I have 4 Optimisers fitted to 4 East facing panels connected in series to a North facing string. I also have a West facing string on the second input to my inverter.
    These 4 panels were added to boost my morning production as the North facing string is shaded until around 9-10am.
    I now make an extra ~2kWh/day in the morning that helps cover more of my usage (especially breakfast preparation and starting the washing machine)..

    I suspect this button might be a way to tune the Inverter if you have Optimisers fitted?

      is the optimiser same as 'Power optimiser'? I see that in my quote it is marked as NA so probably I don't have/needed it. I remember the guy telling that I have got half-cell panels so if half of it is under shade, the other half would continue to generate the power so no need of optimisers. Not sure if that makes sense..

        Sorry, I can't help any further. I was already stretching past my true understanding of my situation.
        I know nothing about half-cell panels. It seems an unusual arrangement from your description.

    I've got the same Optimiser but use FusionHome app.

    Is the option for that 'search' in the user or installer interface?

      Neither. It pops up when you navigate to device real-time info. Navigate from home screen-> Energy Flow -> More ->Device ->Smart Energy Center -> Real-time info tab

        Possibly your half cell panels appear to the Inverter as panels with Optimisers fitted?

        Just realized. This is in user and not in the installer interface. I have got a bunch of plants I can access that my installer has setup all over. It is a bit of a privacy issue but I guess that is a separate discussion

          I asked because the 'installer' interface has a whole lot more options of adjustment over the 'user' interface.

          I would assume that they wouldn't put any damaging options in the user interface.

          Also check your harvest history. You may be getting the same as previous but by simply reviewing it now, you may think you're getting less.

              @Dr-StrangeLove: Hmm.. not sure about your app, but with mine, there's a calender I can use to select a date in the past and see what the yield was for that day
