      Are you a size 14.

    • Why are the Medjool dates in Aldi kept in the refrigerated section and other varieties are kept on the normal shelves amongst the nuts?

      • +1

because they're so large and plump they feel hot on the normal shelves.

skinnier dates have less insulation and the nuts are literally naked.

Does anyone know what country these are from?

    • +3

Not sure about these ones, but they usually come from the USA or Mexico

    • +8

Most likely the country with the most stationed troops in the area where a lot of these grow natively

    • Says mexico in the box

Remove the pit and replace with peanut butter. You're welcome.

      • Thanks for the helpful advice

Saudi Arabia has the best dates.

Ajwa being the #1 or Anbara.

          • @Orico: Thanks, I'll check out the local middle Eastern stores for these dates as well

            • @smokenmirraz: Can anybody suggest a store in inner Sydney that sells different date varieties? I used to get mine from a store in Bankstown when I used to visit my brother but he's since moved.

@scottishdave: Go out west, it's cheaper.

Abu Saleem Greenacre. The supermarket next to Gucci Kebabs on Hume Highway. Chester Hill is sure to have stores. The grocery store on Yerrick Rd in Lakemba.

Can anybody suggest a store in inner Sydney that sells different date varieties?

Bardwell Park, Rockdale or Arnclife are your best bet for middle-eastern food near the city.

  • Will half be shriveled like at Woolworths?

  • Watch yourselves with these. They'll clean you out like nothing else.

Another item that is practically unobtainable due to Aldi supply chain issues. No stock at my local yesterday @ 8:30am. Looked on Aldi stock check site this morning, found a local store that apparently had stock… but no stock on shelves

    • I ended up finding stock this morning on the shelf at that second story in my post above… very happy to snack on a delightfully plump Mexican Medjool

  • Plenty available in Aldi Minto NSW if anyone is interested.

Only ones at local Aldi are around $20/kg

A neg for reporting an observed price / availability??

Ozbargain depends on people accurately reporting observed prices & availability! Without that there would be no Deals & no Ozbargain!!

Staff said there were none at this Deal's price at my local Aldis in Brisbane. Tried many times.

Just a smaller packaged amount at almost $20/kg at 1, but that's not the 1kg one in this Deal.
