  • Depends how cheap - check Facebook Marketplace for second hand.
New? Good Guys is typically best, but there may also be scratch and dent / seconds type stores depending on where you are

    • thanks, for the fridge, prefer to buy new one, i talked to person on the phone from goodguy, $ 900 fridge, $ 40 off, not sure it is good or not.

      • Do a quick search online, if the price is cheaper than anywhere else its probably a decent deal. If it's still more expensive ask them to beat it, or shop elsewhere.

  • Kogan

    • thanks, just checked, they only sell kogan brand fridges, not sure about the quality..

      • I have one, albeit for 2 months only. Up to you

        "cheap" or "quality"

        Pick one

      • Yeah, I wouldn't buy one based on my previous experiences of buying from Kogan, at least they are good with returns…

    Appliances Online?

    • not cheap, even more expensive than local shops

      • They will match/beat local shops prices, free delivery, install and removal of old appliances, boxes etc if you wish.

I've purchased a couple of TV's, washing machine, dryer, gas heater, dishwasher off them over the years, best delivery service I've ever had, always stick to the time frame allocated and driver will call with updates..
A couple of times I ordered late at night (dryer packed it in during winter), requested next day delivery and they were calling me at 7am asking if it was ok to deliver now.

        • did you say appliance online will beat price to e.g harvey norman ? like this one: https://www.harveynorman.com.au/westinghouse-370l-bottom-mou… HN sells for 1099, but appliance sells for 1129 ?

          • @coast666: At worst they will match it but likely include next day delivery….their policy says they will match the pickup price and potentially charge for delivery but they've always been good when I've dealt with them. You have to call them though
            Price promise here

            • @whitelie: thanks, good to know about this, i will give them a call tomorrow morning as it says 7/24 service. The above fridge, i saw it in HN clearance centre and talked to the guy, he would do 870 for me, as it is a factory second (not sure what problem was before), still hesitate to buy it. For the brand new ones, like this ones: https://www.harveynorman.com.au/haier-450l-bottom-mount-frid… , even has a bigger size, not sure which one would be a better choice.

              • @coast666: Fair chance it's just a scratch or dent on it but if you can't see the damage, maybe not….

AO should price match the Haier as well, currently listed for a fair bit more. Product Review doesn't look inspiring from a couple of reviews but they do have a 90 day money back guarantee promotion going at the moment. Personally I'd go with a good name brand for a fridge. A washer/dryer/TV you can do without if it breaks but a fridge is a bit more vital

                • @whitelie: True, fridge is important, although i have been living without it for 2 weeks now. Both review have good and bad areas, i believe i probably go the westinghouse 870 one, it seems slightly better the Haire one. The catch for the factory second one is they only one year warranty instead of two, that's why i didn't buy it last week when i was there..

  • goodguys is good price. delivery bit annoying though, not very reliable

    • thanks, they gave me $20 off from the original price …

  • HN 😂

  • Google your suburb and cheap fridge. Try gumtree. Can't help more as you maybe in Alice Springs and I have no idea there.

    • haha, thanks, i am in newcastle, will go to harvey norman again tomorrow

  • Make and model numbers and location please

  • Might be worth a look at Costco as well.

    • unfortunately no Costco here

If you are in NSW, have a Fridge over 10+ years old and have a Pensioner Concession Card
Health Care Card or Low-Income Health Care Card from Centrelink or Veterans' Affairs Gold Card
    then look at:
    https://energysaver.nsw.gov.au/households/rebates-and-discou…

    • thanks, interesting to know, but i am too young for that

  • I've bought second hand of both from Scumtree. They have worked well for nearly 10 years.

    • thank for sharing, 10 years gumtree is a safe place to buy, but everything has changed now…

    https://www.homeclearance.com.au/

They sell new appliances with cosmetic imperfections. I have bought a dryer from them before. It had a dent in it and was significantly cheaper than anywhere else. It is pot luck what they have in stock at any one time. Free delivery and removal.

    • Bosch 8kg washer with multiple scratch/dent - $20 discount compared to good guys. Seems pretty rubbish.

    • thanks, they are not cheap, plus don't have what i am after

      • Sorry, I only purchased something from them once, and at that time they had the dryer I wanted at a much cheaper price. I was probably just lucky.

    • thanks, in my local area, we have harvey norman clearance center, people say they sell cheap stuff there, but i am not sure..

      • The scratch and dent places are a good place to look. You then Google to see if you can do better.

  • thanks guys, i will go to harvey norman tomorrow, how about this one:

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/westinghouse-370l-bottom-mou…

over there they have centered called clearance stocks, so they have called factory second fridge with 1 year warranty instead , above fridge, i got idea for $899 instead … But have look at brand new ones, like this:
https://www.harveynorman.com.au/haier-450l-bottom-mount-frid…, same amount but size is different …

  • If you are low income you can get a nils loan - no interest loan. Search in google if you need one.

    • thanks for sharing, unfortunately i am not eligible
