Cheapest Way to Sending Back a Chair?

I've purchased a chair (Ergolux London Office Chair) from Kogan and it's so uncomfortable to the point that it hurts to walk after 2 days of use. I want to send it back and unfortunately it costs 120 bucks for a 160 bucks chair.

Is there any cheaper alternative?

  • If you paid via Paypal they might chip in…

    What are the dimensions/weight boxed?

    Maybe just Gumtree it?

    • Unfortunately I paid using my debit card. Yeah I am gonna sell it on gumtree and marketplace on facebook. It's my fault buying chair without trying it in person anyway. Thanks.

      • Officeworks allow you to trial their chairs.
I just wish they would assemble them.

        • Ours have a whole row lined up with made chairs.
I'd expect other OW's to have similar layout…

        • As in trial instore only or similar to bed-in-a-box deals where you can trial chair in home for a period of time & return if unsuitable with money back guarantee ?

You're not meant to sit in a chair for 2 days

When buying chairs make sure the chair has a "Maximum Recommended Daily Usage" specified and it is long enough for what you want otherwise you may/will have issue. I could not find any rating for the chair on Kogan.

Have you thought about sending it back via the same courier that delivered it as it may be the cheapest.

  • Try e-go or border express. Both have been surprisingly cheap in the past when I've had to send bulky freight.

The customer service is not fantastic however…

Chairs are always awkward to send back unless you disassemble it, though as you say the shipping costs VS the price of the chair is not worth the effort. As others have said probably cut your losses and sell on gumtree/FB marketplace to re-coupe some of your $$.

    Have you tried Sendle?

Break something off it and then raise a fault with Kogan so they give you a refund. I wouldn't normally recommend doing that with any other company, but it is Kogan we're talking about here.

I dislike Kogan and wish everyone would stop using them and supporting their scummy practises, rubbish customer service and cheap rebranded products, but this is not the answer. Be better.

      • Why are they so successful then?

        • +1

Because people believe in the false economy of buying super cheap.
