[PC, XB1, PS4] Fully Playable Timesplitters 2 Game within Homefront: The Revolution

890

I hope everybody has kept their copy of Homefront Revolution.

If not, it’s $10 preowned at EB Games at the moment.
Or $7.86 in the Microsoft Store if you want to get it digitally instead. Expires on 16th April

So it’s been 5 years since people have tried to find the unlock code for the Timesplitters 2 game and it has been found by two people by reverse-engineering.

Ok, it’s not technically a full game as it’s missing multiplayer, but it still have all the story campaign levels and arcade mode.

And it’s also not emulated. It’s actually a native 4K port.

Enter these codes at the TS2 main menu

Xbox One: LT+UP, LT+UP, Down, LT+Right, RT+Left, RT+B, LT+Y, LT+Y, RT+X, LT+A

Codes for PC equivalent

Note: It seems like there’s a few bugs unfortunately ie. Neotokyo will crash regardless of whatever difficulty you pick.

  • I don't even understand those pc codes

      Left Click
      Right Click

        Thanks. Such unnecessarily complex sequences

How long have you been gaming for…?

          • +1

            @Singu1arity: Decades.

Codes are normally sequences of single buttons, not sequences of dual buttons. It's like they're trying to be dicks on purpose.

@Singu1arity: For me I was more confused about LC/RC, since I've never seen right or left mouse button abbreviated as such.

Just got it working then, weird that the code certainly has some confirmation and back inputs so you are going back and forth from the stage select and main menu while inputting, but it does work.

I thought it meant Left Control, Right Control and felt smart for a minute.

Worth noting that unless you have played the game to a certain point, or have a save from someone who has, TS isn't accessible.

You need to get to about 3/4 of the way through and use an arcade machine in the game to unlock two levels (which I think have always been playable). You can then access the full game from the extras menu with the codes in the OP.

There's plenty of people about offering save games with the two levels unlocked. You just need the code sequence then.

    • Is this only possible (the save import) on PC, and not Xbox?

      • I think so, but not sure to be honest

Simply upvoting for one of the best games of all-time.

    Good lord!

So many hours spent in the early 2000s playing multiplayer across ts2/3.

That multi tap paid for itself many times over.

  • How is this a deal?

    • +16

Another free, full game recently unlocked within another game.

      Basically, a two-for-one deal.

    • It's like the Kevin Bacon six degrees of separation…from Goldeneye!

    • +3

This is literally the best post/deal on here all day. Better than how to save 50c on a double quarter pounder.

  • +2

Wow this was my favourite shooter on the old PS2, such nostalgia.

Anyone found a cheap key for PC?

    • +1

it was just for sale on Humble Store for about $3 in a build your own bundle.

    • +1

Fanatical has it on sale pretty much all the time for about $7 or so with the DLCs (which are actually pretty good despite being attached to this game)

  • +1

    Bricks vs Zombies.

  • Nothing will ever beat this game. It’s my childhood in a nutshell!

    • What are the odds it could be patched out? Whereas a physical copy gets around that potential issue.

      • +1

Believe me, if they want to patch it out it will happen next time you go online, disc or no disc.

        • Yeah I dunno, there's always the option to just not apply updates to the physical discs, can't do that with digital. Doesn't really matter for me anyway, I don't intend on buying it.

    • Son of a bitch!

Looked everywhere last night for a cheap PC copy, Microsoft store never came up once, even searched multiple times with different wording.
Just bought it then on xb1 from EB for $10.

First goldeneye xbla gets fully leaked, second sight comes back to Steam yesterday & now this.

This is best time to be Free Radical fan.

    • What?!!!

I need to get this ASAP…loved that game

  • Wtf this is amazing?

  • +1

Timesplitters 2 & 3 are my favourite FPS of all time!!

  • This sounds great - can someone give a realistic estimate of how long it would take an average player to get to the cabinet - or alternatively if there is a way to import a save file on Xbox?

  • Damn! Now I have to drive to EB tomorrow!

  • Wow cool
Homefront the revolution sucked ass :(
I actually really liked the 1st one, Had cool ideas with drones and all that. and multiplayer was cool!
I wish Timesplitters games got next-gen remakes with multiplayer! that would be the tits.

  • -1

Kind of pointless without the multiplayer and map maker.

  • +1

Timesplitters was awesome fun, designing your own lvls, multiplayer, goodtimes =)

  • Thanks OP saw this when they thought the code was lost just a few days earlier and figured this would eventually happen but didnt take them long!! Just bought this on gamecube as well for the multiplayer - it will be nice to have the remastered single player campaign :)

Here's hoping for a PC port with full blown multiplayer support.

  • +1

The Freedom Bundle is on sale so for less than $8 you get a free copy of Homefront when you buy Timesplitters 2

  • I bet this runs incredibly well on PS5. I have the actual Time Splitters 2 on PS2, never got what the fuss was.
