[Kogan First] Steelseries Arctis 7 Wireless Black Headset $169 Delivered @ Kogan

550

Was about to buy the Arctis 1 Wireless for $146 at Amazon but found a better deal when signing up for free Kogan First trial.

SteelSeries Arctis 7 Wireless Gaming Headset (2019 Edition, Black). Wireless via USB-A dongle that connects to PC, Mac, PS4, PS5 and Switch (handheld). Can also connect wired to Xbox, Switch (docked) and Mobiles via 3.5mm cable. Full specs from Steelseries can be found here.

Tried to price-match at JB Hi-Fi this morning to use up gift cards but was unsuccessful, they're selling it at $339 and don't usually price-match Kogan anyway due to their grey imports.

Also available in white but costs $20 extra - SteelSeries Arctis 7 Wireless Gaming Headset (2019 Edition, White) - $189

    7, 7P and 7x… so confusing!

I need one for Xbox and ps5, is this the one? :(

    Excellent headset.

Ive got one and really rate it

I moved from logitech to this one and find it really comfortable. Can I ask what you don't like about it?

  • Any good prices for 7x around?

    • Not really, and you're paying extra for the certification. Amazon would be the place to look though, might be able to snag one at $190-$210.

I'd wait for next week though before you do: ShopBack anniversary deals.

Thank you OP, just picked one up.

Worst headset ever… sound is so flat. To get it close to right you need to install a bunch of software on PC…. let alone use it on a console then its gg. Steel Series customer service is a joke. Go with a company that values your money

      So… a gaming headset?

  • +4

i have the wireless Gaming ones from amazon last year.

if u have a large head, they are very snug (more than a little too so)
i would suggest getting something like the astro a50s (seemed to have a bigger head band and bracket - more comfy)

but as far as the sound reproduction goes - Bang on. Very good.

  • How is the bass? Is it bassy or neutral?

I've had the arctis 7 pro and it's garbage and really quiet. I now have the original hyper X cloud and it's better in every way. High end gaming headsets with surround sound are a gimmick. Just get a good stereo one, or a proper pair of cans.

    • Been using wired hyper X cloud II for over 5 years. Can't see any reason to upgrade them yet

      • Same! I will mention I'm on my 3rd set of ear pads and recently used nail polish remover to take off all the soft touch coatings that had turned sticky - looks good and feels good again!

What's a worthy upgrade for the cloud 2's?

      • you're me, but i bought these anyway.

i'll let you know what i think lol

        • Thanks mate, please do! Very keen to go down the wireless route

          • @customundo: they're very good! maybe not worth the upgrade, but if wireless is the way you want to go, nothing wrong with these at all.

            • @Carrian: Great thanks for the feedback
Shall grab a pair to keep the hyperx company ;)

    • Wanna sell me your Arctis then?

      • Sold it years ago.

I got one of these only recently. I'm upgrading from just using my QC35s so it's a huge upgrade for me at least. For this price it's a steal. I've read much more positive commentary about it in my earlier research.

  • What's the difference between this and 7x? I only PC game

    • Headsets both has the same specifications but the Arctis 7 is pure black and 7X has some Xbox green flair on the band.

The difference is the wireless dongle. The Arctis 7 is USB-A and doesn't work when plugged in to Xbox consoles. The 7X is USB-C (comes with adapter to USB-A) and works with Xbox consoles in addition to everything else the Arctis 7 dongle works with.

If you only PC game you can ignore the 7X, it's only discussed frequently because there are currently very few headsets that can connect wireless to both the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

      • Thanks. Bought.

Wonder if Amazon will match this shortly.

fingers crossed, 3xcamel showing $157.89 as all time low

  • To those who are thinking of getting this headset, don't listen to haters. I have the Arctis 1 wireless paired on my PS5 and I can't complain. For this price for the 7's get it and be happy because no gaming headphones come close to these on this price range. GG

extra $5 off if you subscribe to the newsletter btw

  • Poor headset, don't bother. Sounds isn't great, the fit is terrible and the strap stretches to an usuable level. The metal digs into your head. Never been happy with my arctis 7. Much prefer the proprietary PS stuff, which I've gone back to.

    • Must be something wrong with your head size…

  • have i missed out on this deal? seems like the price for arctis 3 is 99 now

    • Looks like it finished today. Just checked back on this deal and all the prices are back to regular prices.

seems to be back on again. just snatched myself an arctis 3. woo hoo

  • +1

The deal (at least for the black Arctis 7) looks like its still going at the moment, just checked out at $169 myself.

My workmate bought them at the same time as me but from different sellers, his sounds like it's underwater and mine is actually really nice.

This is me coming from amplified HD6xxx's, I guess it must be poor QC.

  • I bought mine last year and to me they sound garbage out of the box, but when you turn on the 7.1 everything sounds good.

  • +1

    Price increased to $179

    • Thanks - this makes me feel a little bit less bad about colour matching my setup w/ the white.

      • +1

hahaha hope you got it early! white also jacked, from $179 to $189.
