Suggestions for a Used Car

Hi there!

I've been on the market for a post 2015 mazda 3 which is proving frustrating due to the covid tax but just wondering if there are better alternatives out there.

I need a hatch and really love the body of the Mazda 3, any suggestions on something reliable/fun to drive that looks and feels sporty?

Any suggestions are very much appreciated!

To be honest any used car you buy is going to have it's price impacted by COVID. Probably best to buy what you want!

    post 2015 mazda 3

To me, it looks very similar to an i30 - which seems to be a popular choice amongst the OzB people. I don't know the before and after prices, but perhaps have a look at that?

    • Sorry, should have mentioned! Up to 18k

see if you like the look of suzuki swift

Nothing wrong with a Mazda. Everything is impacted by the covid prices. Just buy one.

  • get the mazda but maybe wait until end of the year or early next year until things start to go back to normal

Renault Megane and Peugeot 308. You will get far better value and a lower mileage car with these.

    • And good old fashioned French reliability!

Nah, just someone who watches the F1 and knows how useless Renault engines are when compared with their german, italian and even japanese competitors..

        • I'm with you mate. Totally underrated cars and in my experience less major problems than anything from VAG group..

Ex had a Citroen. Pretty fun car.

Sold it when it started randomly not getting back into gear at red lights. Good fun.
Now she's got a 20 year old Toyota that is way less trouble to live with.

@crentist: Thank you. I rest my case.

    • Cheap car deal

      Renault Megane and Peugeot 308

      Why?

Could be thats the only way to sell them. And thats by those who know the issues with these cars, - the previous owners.

As for Ozbargain experts on these cars, its very unlikely to find them.

      1. so few sold, and
      2. no bargain, so so ozbargain experts.

Thats not to say they maybe fun to drive, but so are Jeeps….. but doesnt mean you should buy them if you want a bargain.
