  • How much of charge would this give a Mac pro type c laptop ? Not expecting anything major but looking for something compact to have handy.

    • -1

The Powerbank is only going to deliver 18W via PD, whilst MacBook Pro needs 61W. (Might still work with something slightly less), but 18W is significantly lower, so it may not even charge it at all.

      • The answers here suggest that a 2016 Macbook Pro can charge from even 5V - https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/278012/64566

The battery would discharge faster than it's charging if you're using it, but it would still extend the total battery life.

Edit: regarding capacity, Macbooks seem to have batteries ranging from about 74-96Wh according to this page https://www.macfixit.com.au/batteries/macbook-pro/

Assuming this battery bank is 10,000mAh at 3.6V, that gives 36Wh, so it would give you rougly 1/3 charge (assuming some inefficiency)

  • When I've previously looked at anker they don't support QC at all. They have PD now which is good, but I wonder why no QC?

    • Quick Charge isn't an official charging standard, hence why they don't implement it.

    • QC is dying as a fast charging standard. All the Chinese phone makers use their own proprietary fast charging tech, whereas everyone else use PD e.g. Nokia, Samsung (with PPS subset of PD standard), Google, Sony or Apple. I don't remember a recently announced phone with QC only.

  • Is this suitable for a Galaxy Note 10? Or is a different model more suitable? I find powerbanks very confusing…

    • Its suitable for any phone, not as complicated as you might think. It doesn't matter if it charges at 10w or 18w, if your phone doesn't support fast charging or is over the charge rate, it will auto adjust. The Galaxy Note 10 has fast charging of up to 25w I believe. At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter.

  • Price is only coming up as $52.99 for me after clicking the coupon. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to have Amazon Prime?

    • Worked it out. Have to go to cart to see the reduced price.
