We were hunting around for one not long ago. Conveyancing Works came in amongst the cheapest. The price you pay will be determined by their actual fees plus any searches. The cost of the searches varies from council to council.

Any quotes that you do get, be sure to check whether searches are included, and what searches they are actually doing. I found that some make a hefty profit on the actual cost of searches, for instance I found more than one charging $55 or $60 for a title search which actually only costs $13.95.

Remember, cost alone isn't the only factor you need to consider - you need to be sure to get someone that is reliable. You're making a huge investment and don't want to find out down the track that they didn't do their job properly.

  • I used Middle Harbour Conveyancing when I bought my place. She (Julie) was really helpful and made sure I didnt get screwed by the vendor in the fine print of the contracts.

She charged a standard rate, only invoicing the full amount after exchange. Costs about $40-$50 more than the nswconveyancer.com peeps, but I chose these guys over the cheaper guys after hearing two really great recommendations from people at work.

    Good lck
