mag99

Following the popularity of our last deal here for the Cascade Mesh Chair we're back with another deal, this time for the Magnum Mesh Chair - at a price for the more value-conscious. This gas-lift chair is still a quality, feature-packed office chair at an unbeatable price - suitable for 8+ hours a day of comfortable sitting - it just doesn't have quite so many bells and whistles as the Cascade. (We've got less than 20 of the Cascade chairs left in stock).

Please note: While Shipping is available from $29, we're specifically offering these for our Brisbane customers who'd like to save a couple of quid and pick up from our warehouse at Darra. (If you're not in Brisbane but still want one, throw it in the cart and put in your postcode - shipping price will show at checkout.)

As of posting, we've got 53 of the Magnum Mesh Chair left in stock - and while these come with a 12 Month Warranty, we're not going to be restocking this particular line, so we're offering an additional $50 off the already reduced price of $149 - meaning it's yours for just $99. Just use the code mag99 in checkout.

    Nice chair.

  • +5

I'm sitting on one of these chairs right now. Bought about 9 months ago to work from home. It's a decent chair, adjustable and quite comfortable, seems to be built well. For the price you can't really go wrong.

Thanks muchly, Timm! Always appreciate the feedback (especially when it's positive).

  • +1

Shipping to my state cost as much as the chair itself :D

    • Post to Melbourne is $29 for me which is pretty fair, so worth entering your post code if interested

    • +1

Yeah, but it's really good quality shipping!

Unfortunately - freight charges aren't what they used to be, which is why we've said Free Brisbane Pick Up for this deal, but if you really want shipping - it's available.

      Just to clear anything up;

      Metro areas: $29 shipping
      'Semi-metro' areas: $59 shipping
      Regional areas: $88 shipping

  • Is it already assembled or boxed? Will it fit in the backseat of a sedan?

  • +2

It is boxed - so some^ assembly is required.

It'll fit in the backseat of a Micra, it'll definitely fit in the backseat of a sedan.

^By some I mean it comes in 34 pieces (inclusive of washers, screws and spacers). Assembly sheet here

  • hi OP, are you able to do any deals on the Ergo Office Chair (with arm rest)?

    • +3

Not specifically for that chair - however we do have a 10% off site-wide coupon for OzBargain shoppers that's posted above - OZBARGAIN10 that'll work for the Ergo.

  • Hi Rep, are those "magic/motion" chairs where the back of the chair automatically moves and pushes against your back good for you? Seems like it would encourage bad posture? This is compared to ergonomic chairs that have no motion.

    eg.

When it comes to ergonomic design, Herman Miller is pretty much the king. They've studied 'active' ergonomic solutions - like those used in the Motion chair - that apply pressure based on weight and seating position. Chairs that provide pressure - especially in the lumbar region moving away from the spine, are more comfortable than those that don't - however that pressure needs to differ when reclining - otherwise it's like having a brick in your back when you go to stretch. It's a range of study waaaay above my head called 'kinematics'.

It comes down to the fact that your body should be dictating pressure distribution, not the chair. It's why church pews are so uncomfortable to sit in. (There may be other reasons, but that's the one I'm going with.)

By having pressure and recline applied dynamically, the chair responds to each sitter in the optimal way for their body shape and weight, no matter their position. While part of the 'ergonomic' side of this equation does come down to correct sitting position (squared forearms, flat feet, seat-to-knee gap etc), 'active' solutions at least take care of the 'contact with chair back' part.

      Hope that helps!

  • How is the 520mm max height measured? Is it from the floor to the bottom of the seat/top of cushion or something else?
I am looking for a chair with a height of 630mm (from floor to the cushion top).
    Thanks.

    • +2

The height range is measured by the top of seat to floor - so when the gas strut is completely down, the seat is 420mm from the floor, and when the gas strut is in its uppermost position, it's 520mm.

Unfortunately the tallest our currently stocked chairs reach is 620mm. To make your search much easier, Google 'drafting chairs' or 'sit/stand' chairs. Because most architectural drafting tables are set much higher, the drafting chairs that go with them generally start from about 630mm and rise to about 900mm. Hope this helps!

      • Thanks for the detailed reply. Can you please provide me links to the chairs that reach 620mm? Thanks.

OP any chance you can assist with a coupon purchasing both the Magnum and Cascade together?

    • Would be interested in that too.

    • Hi, Unfortunately the Cascade has sold out and is only available on backorder. If you're OK with waiting until mid-May, then certainly drop us a line at [email protected] and we'll see what we can do for you!

  • Is it possible to try it out at the Darra warehouse or are they all boxed?

    • Hi there! Absolutely, just give us a bell on 1300 883 438 and we'll let you take a spin on one :)

  • Hey Rep, any chance I can delay shipping until early May? I'm moving to a new place soon so just like to know if that's a possibility.

    • Hey, sure thing. Just pop that in the notes when you're checking out.

Hi OP, I couldn't find anything on your website so guessing not, but do you have any mesh back, fabric seat with headrest chairs?

  • whats the difference between this and cascade?

    • Hi, The Magnum is an entry level chair with tilt lock. It can only be locked off in the upright position or set to 'rock'. The Cascade has a Synchro mechanism which can be locked off at multiple points, adjustable lumbar support, thicker seat pad and a 10 year warranty. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to phone me on 1300 883 438. Cheers.

  • Hey OP, seems like I missed out on this. Will this deal be back?

    • Hi, jump on the online chat or send us an email and we'll see what we can do :)
